I was hoping to win, but since we lost, I am much happier with a blowout than a close win. If we keep games close and somewhat interesting, ownership will not do anything. If they play this bad again next week, I could see them making a change at the bye week.
As I said in the game thread, I used to believe that a QB could develop the necessary acuity and awareness for the position simply through a matter of reps but Kaepernick has proven me wrong.
I think either a QB has the mental aptitude for the position and natural QB instincts that you can develop and improve upon, or they don't. I think its becoming clear that Kaepernick falls into the latter category. Tremendous athleticism, a cannon arm, a guy that if he has a good run game, a good OL and a good defense can win you some games but will never be consistent enough because the vital skills that the position demands don't come naturally to him.
