Why is Vernon's response considered scripted? He could have said nothing or he looks great and left it at that. I mean they aren't really even practicing yet. I'm excited to see Colin this year. He spent time on trying to become a better QB this year and not just a better athlete or football player. Plus with the additions through FA and the draft I think Colin will be better this year, mentally especially. I see another article by the Press Democrat is posted on the Zone. Don't know if it's decrepit old man Cohn or his hack son. Not going to read it either because I hate the Cohns. It would be great if old man Cohn could get a sideline pass for one of the games and Colin runs into him while running out of bounds and breaks his hip and all 10 of his fingers and thumbs. Then when Colin gets up he accidentally steps on Cohn's throat and he can't talk. That would be awesome!!! I don't want to see him die but injured just enough he can't write during the football season. Oh the irony.

GREAT to hear all this stuff, but I want to see if it sticks under pressure.

What I mean to say was Bellicheck schemed to stop our run game, and then come gameday, BOOM we go 4 wide on his ass!

The issue wasn't Roman outsmarting Belichick. It was the 49ers taking it out on the piss poor Pats passing defense after our defense shut down Brady and their offense early on in that game.

Roman can't outsmart Belichick even in a how to be Greg Roman contest. 49ers just had the better team and Kap made some terrific plays.

Of course...Roman has nothing to do with offensive success, but everything to do with offensive failure.

Geez guys can we just stop with that

Now that you saw the light, we sure can stop with that.

The Kaepernick part of the interview was interesting.

He was polite and responsive.

Kaepernick displayed none of hostility and anger that he did for most of the last year.

He gave simple, straight forward answers.

He seemed unfazed by rumors and negativity that are so prominent in the media.

He did a good job.

Agreed and I thought that was really evident when the Harbaugh question came up. First he looked to Vernon and then Coach T started mumbling about how the question wasn't necessary, but Colin just quickly interjected a two line response without any hostility and it defused the situation.

It was a good interview and relaxed.

Considering how an injured ACL restricts lateral movement (as opposed to linear straight line speed), this is a FANTASTIC sight to see.

Let's hope in a few weeks/months, we see Bowman under a similar light!
If VD would have said something bad about Kap everyone would have believed it. He says something positive and it's an automatic lie lol

Colin, when you look at yourself now on film, is it that dramatic? Is it completely different as far as mechanics go?

CK: "I feel like there's been quite a bit of change. Obviously noticeable. Vernon said something to me right away when we started throwing. But, I just want to do everything I can to make sure I'm getting better and doing my part to help this team win."

Is there any trepidation of changing four years in?

CK: "No. To me change isn't, you have to be able to change and adapt to be the best player you can be."What would you say were the biggest gains you made during that stint? CK: "Becoming a better quarterback. A lot of knowledge picked up, not just mechanics wise, but mentally as far as the approach to the game."

Could you offer any details on that in terms of your approach?

CK: "No more than what I just gave you."

How much board work did you do in Phoenix? How much of it was classroom type of stuff versus on the field, in the weight room type of stuff?

CK: "We'd go one day a week on the board. But, when we're on the field, we're still talking like we're talking in the classroom. So, it's constant mental work. We aren't just out there throwing just to throw."

Colin, did you put in more work these past couple of months than you have in other offseasons or is it just different type of work?

CK: "Hours wise, it was probably about the same, but different type of work. More detailed work."

You're going to have a new offensive coordinator now, but you know 49ers offensive coordinator Geep Chryst well. What's the relationship like there with Geep and what you're going to expect, differences offensively?

CK: "I have a great relationship with Geep. I don't think there was anyone more excited when Jimmy T brought him on as the OC than me. Very excited to what he brings to the table and the situations he's going to put the offense in. Anything more than that we'll have to see as we go."

Colin, what prompted you to decide to do the different kind of work this offseason than what you've been doing in the past?

CK: "To get better. We didn't have the season we wanted to last year. I could have played better last year. Offensively we could have played better last year. So, something had to change."

What do you think you could have done better last season?

CK: "Put our offense in better situations. Complete more passes. Score more touchdowns. That's what offenses are meant to do and we didn't do it enough."

Is it too far out to think that you might go and do some of this program again in the future? Maybe not the length of it, but go back there and train some more?

CK: "Right now we're taking this one day at a time. I'm focused on what this team is doing right now."

I like everything I am hearing about Kaepernick and the work he did in AZ. However, it recalls all my frustration with Harbaugh. He was supposed to be The Great Quarterback Whisperer, and he proved he wasn't that. He was just a college cheerleader with a self-discipline problem. I don't want to hear about three winning seasons. Those SHOULD have been winning seasons, that included at least one ring. His utter failure to truly understand the quarterback position in the NFL in 2014 is becoming even more clear by Kaepernick's comments about what he learned working with another former NFL quarterback who actually knows what it takes.

two good posts. agree, lets move forward, onward and upward.college cheerleading becomes very annoying with vet players after a while and once you start to lose.
