I wouldn't even care if he was on the radio making Cully like homophobic comments or racist comments. That's how little I care about his image. Just ball for my favorite football team and don't break laws.

This is a very short sighted comment/attitude. If his immaturity on social media represents his social sensibilityin general, then that same immaturity can be detirmental to team chemistry. It doesn't appear to be a serious issue but his penchant for throwing to a covered Crabtree could be a sign of his acting on impulse rather than thinking through the situation. Maturity is important for leaders and having the respect of your team mates is extremely important to QBs.

That said, the improvement during press conferences demonstrates his awareness of the problem and his desire to turn around his image/behavior. This will likely happen in social media as well and he will hopefully develop into a solid leader--without Gore...it is certainly needed this coming year.

I actually think that Collin is a pretty smart guy but he just does some dumb things on social media for whatever reason. Not that preseason games really matter but it's not like he doesn't know the team's first exhibition game is in Houston. It's good that he apologized profusely but I mean knowing you have your first preseason game in a place where there's disastrous flooding taking place why would you even go there?

Every young male says dumb stuff on social media. The difference is, none of us have a national audience. Dude really needs to drop his twitter/instagram or use better discretion...

What dumb things on social media? And who the hell thinks about a preseason game 3 months away when you have a new coaching staff and a new offense to think about plus a new release he has to work on?

Well the second part, you really should care about there is no excuse for hate, and the PR that comes with our team being located In SF I wouldnt touch that with a 10 yard pole.

Nope. I don't, because bigotry is not a crime. Again, this shows how little I care about a football player's image. He can be public enemy #1 and all I'll still care about is his completion percentage and TD/INT ratio. Just ball for the 49ers. Unlike Jed, I don't care for winning with class.

I completely understand the fans that are upset with his social media antics, but for me, it's just a sideshow for what really matters.

Can't wait for this to eventually blow over and we can start picking apart his new mechanics.

All good. We don't share the same opinion.

My guess is that if Kaepernick looks good this year and makes significant progress, Warner's phone is going to be ringing off the hook.
the small things we see and hear indicate he already is a better qb now as compared to what he was 4 months ago. and he will be better in four months than he is now i trust.

Colin has the same problem 90% of people have these days. He types whatever the f**k he wants online and doesnt think of the consequence. But oh since he's an NFL Qb..the most sacred and important positions in all society..he has to be held to some sort of higher standard as if he's not an idiot just like everybody else is online. At least he aplogized..everybody else just says stupid s**t and stands by their right to say it.

So if your a sports entertainer your ok with being a bigot? and your ok with throwing the PR stuff onto your teammates, friends family and FO? the stuff that Kap said shouldn't be an issue its petty, but being a bigot is hole different issue and it would bring a #7hitstorm to all your friends, family and teammates....cant get on board with that one

#7tormscoming with a pic of Texas under water, not realizing the severity of it. He apologized profusely and deleted the post but in this day and age that's never good enough.

Kaep only apologized cuz either his agent or the 49ers told him too

Or maybe because he was told what was happening in Houston and realized it was in poor taste. My brother in law works with Kaeps father and he says he and that family are "salt of the earth". I'd assume Kaeps a good person and have never heard otherwise.
Just stop with the excuses for him. As much as he is on social media I have a hard time believing he didnt know what was happening in Houston,

If he has PR people they do a really s**tty job with him, If he ever wants to be taken seriously he needs to grow up

Do you know any 20 something males? Maybe you shouldn't be sooo Judgemental??
