The media also has painted a negative picture of Kap and ignored the positive work he has done with youth while at the same time sugar coating everything Russell Wilson has done in the same regard. Part of it could also be how Kap was told to handle the media by Harbaugh also in the past. Make no mistake though he can't keep making these types of mistakes. I agree with the Houston mayor and believe he should make some sort of donation to their relief fund.

The Houston mayor? F*** the mayor! I wouldn't give anybody ish! It was a mistake! At this point I tell em all to f*** off! The mayor should check his own kids

Exactly. Kaep's never been perfect, but I think he's always made an honest effort to correct his mistakes (on or off the field). That is the best we can ask of anyone.
He already apologized and I'm sure he'll help out Houston if that's what he wants to do. The Houston mayoral team comments just sound like a shake down. They can just take all their political contributions and dump it in the relief fund. If Kaep wants to reach out, don't pay a dime to their fund. Donate to another fund or go down there in person and donate time.

Yes I was disappointed with his plays last year, but I don't hate the guy..

But this has nothing to do about his football skills and/or being a QB..

.... and as far as making remarks that is MORE stupid in your opinion, what is the difference between he's remarks and my remark???

9moon: "What is he gonna do next, wear a Limited Alternate Jersey of Rae Carruth because he just loves its color??"

Bringing up a murderer and implying that Kaepernick doesn't care that he's a murderer.

Like I said I wouldn't change my offseason over a stupid tweet. I would focus on the season more intently

Kap isn't the best at making decisions.
... and posting a photo of the flood over vehicles where people lost their lives is different than he wearing a Carruth jersey?

... " i told you a storm is coming ".. as if he was THIS GOOD OF A QB to begin with... oh pleaseee.. that alone tells you how his execellent Super Bowl season had gotten to his head..

Yes because the obvious difference isn't obvious enough for you to understand.
Still feeling good about that Black #7 Jersey that I just bought.

But his comments were f**king stupid. Just absolutely dumb.
He made a mistake on the tweet, a really stupid one...this is what happens when today's youth live in the cocoons of their social media world. how in all hell he had no idea this was a serious situation is beyond me, he's 28..watch the news bro stop reading instagram and twitter posts all day.

but the thing that really rubs me the wrong way is posting a pic of himself shirtless and saying #justlivin....

is he this self unaware?

he's 28 right?

Yes. IMO he lacks a lot of self awareness which is troubling for his age. As long he doesn't go get a DUI or another rape case this will eventually go away but damn can he just stay the F out of social media? Especially right now when NFL journalist and media are as bored as the players and will feast on any controversy. I mean I didn't even realize how well known Ray McDonald was until recently.

One thing that annoys me about this 'stupid tweet' conversation is that I've seen occasions around here when someone posts a pic of Kaepernick sitting with a bunch of children with heart disease, playing with them, making their days possibly a little brighter and there will be NO reaction; nada. It's like 'who cares?' Nobody has much to say about something he might have done right outside of football, but when he makes an obvious mistake, it's like a shark feeding frenzy.
Because that doesn't fit into the narrative that hes a swag lookin sideways hat wearin thug and positive stuff is boring anyway

Dealing in extreme exaggeration is not helpful. There are people who didn't like the tweet...get over it! People in Houston were very offended. Get over it. Thinking this over I would be surprised if Kaepernick doesn't send a boatload of relief to Houston residents...just the dicotomy of his being human.
But that would get twisted into something like "well hes only helping because he feels stupid hes not doing it cause he cares"......

You guys don't get it. The narrative is NOT that he's a sideways hat-wearing thug. Christ, I wish it was. He's not REMOTELY a thug even though it's painfully obvious he wants to be oh so badly.

The narrative is that he acts like a teenage girl trying to be "cool". He looks like an idiot--making up corny hashtags like #7tormscoming, talks about "haters" (a juvenile term if there ever was one), strategically positions headphones around his neck at press conferences to look cool. People do that stuff in grade school, and it's super embarrassing then. Even if he was 21 or 22 years old I'd probably look the other way or say he's gotta act his age soon. BUT HE'S ALMOST 30 for god's sake.

Any of my friends who root for other teams look at him as a joke. Not as thug. Not as a bad person. But as a teenage girl. And I don't want a teenage girl leading my team.
not according to 80ncleats..

... as long as Kaep gets us that 6th ring, he can wear Carruth's jersey and have a selfie with the Houston tragedy in the background, and all will be fine with 80ncleats!!
