really? when did 27-28 become an age when people still say "hey guys he's just a kid"??

Eh. Not that I expect you to look back on this mess but I am firmly in the "Kap needs to act more mature and make better decisions on and off the field" camp

Edit: But apparently we are a minority. Most people are cool with having one of the most immature starting QBs in the league. Ony QBs that are worse are Manziel and RG3.
Really? I don't even know where you get this, what is it that makes him an immature school girl? is it the hats backwards? is it not wanting to talk to the media? is it him being shirtless? how about wearing a dolphins hat? no let me guess its Kap smashin on a troll right? is that over the line? No its gotta be the shoe collection, you hate people with clutter i get it, that and rich people suck?. One tweet that was insensitive for like 5 minutes before he took it down and said "damn my bad didn't realize people died" and you all want to crucify him like Jesus I love WZ lol

Where is the Rule by this age you have to start acting like you have a stick up the arse ?

We have presidents, politicians, CEO's , celebrities doing what they do

Sounds like some people are just afraid to be themselves
Let's be honest Kap is a smart kid. However he needs to be a lot smarter with the use of his social media.

IMO he's trying too hard on social media and imo he's not the guy he's trying to be right now.

If you look at his videos from college before the NFL hype he was a totally different person. Part of that is the early success and part of it is Harbaugh hyping him up and making him take on his anti media persona.

Kaepernick is a good guy but he needs to stop being "hard" and relax on the #hashtagcrap.

I get that he's confident in his abilities but so are guys like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers. They don't feel the need to promote themselves on twitter and instagram. You don't need that crap either Kap. Just be yourself and let your actions and play show who you are.

seriously? Is this really still a topic.

Jeez...just step back and think of all the things you've ever said and imagine if you were famous and they were blasted all over the internet. What would people say about YOU? Sure...he put it up on instagram. Bad move...can peeps freakin' chill about it though? Get over it. People make mistakes. Its human. I don't care if he's a QB or a mens room attendant. RELAX.

Thank you. It would be nice to move on, but you know THOSE WHO SIT IN JUDGEMENT feel they have something to teach Kaepernick and all of us so I'm sure they'll continue with their holier than thou judgement fest.

True, but maybe one should refrain from pimping their moronic slogan and "brand" using pics of cars underwater in heavily populated areas.
If that's what you believe he is doing "pimping his moronic slogan and brand" then I dont know what to tell you, I can tell you though from personal experience that sometimes I make mistakes and sometimes I say and write things that I realized later was a bad choice but never had any malice to it, just maybe this is what Kap did? maybe?

He used his lame slogan in a "hey look at me" attention-seeking post...not sure how that's not pimping his brand. But I digress...not for a second did I think he was being malicious...just very unaware and obtuse.

As I said, I've been a staunch supporter of him as a player, and still think he's capable of great things...but he should give strong consideration to putting the whole social media thing to bed for a while.

I probably wouldn't say certain things to an audience of millions if I was famous and stuff

I think this Houston tweet thing is getting blown out of proportion big time. It's obvious the guy didn't know the devastation and deaths that resulted from that storm or he never would've made that joke.

I just really dislike the whole hashtag craze that anyone uses and I wish Kap would stop that crap. I do hope that he goes back to the guy he was in college vs the guy who he became with early success. I think that personality would suit him better for the NFL.

I don't know how you can say with confidence that hes doing this for attention? I don't even know the guy personally much less know what hes thinking or feeling, this hash tag thing is just the way people talk now on social media, not sure why its being made into a big deal? I would almost always agree with you when it comes to social media (with most sports entertainers) however Kap is mild compared to others so I don't get the hate.

i dont understand these constant comparisons from famous people to everyday people. everyone makes mistakes, but if you were famous and in the spot light chances are you'd be a lot more aware of how things come off if you do it as opposed to that garage door repair man nobody cares about. i dont think this incident is a huge deal at all, but its truly comparing apples to oranges. the mere fact he has had a couple of minor incidents (dolphins hat, fights with "fans" on twitter) shows a slight pattern of immaturity. i'm just wondering where the line is where you finally get it, hes turning 28 after all.

isn't the entire point of twitter and instagram to get attention?
I just don't get the zoners who think eh what the hell. I don't need a mature calculating QB who thinks things through. It's not about the Instagram, it's a larger pattern of behavior.
