that probably can not be fixed . there are pros and cons to both men and at least no matter how it shakes out. we will continue our tradition of a spirited debate about who our qb should be. in that regards,,,, there is not one fan base that hold a candle to us and we have the tradition to prove it,,, going back to 1972 with brodie vs spurrier
Pagano didn't blitz CK once last night. I'm glad Capers did last week. It's way more telling

the comment made by sus in regards to ck playing with backups. HAS to be a factor when you look at his game in my opinion.. as far as the rest of his comments..... sus said nothing wrong

Thank you for your support.
it may not seem that way at times when i am nuts... but i always support you!!!

You are a good man, a true gem to this online community.

Aww.. I would make a sarcastic comment, but I want to collect a free steak if I ever visit Iowa, lol. Go niners!
that offer is always there for you, google rubes steakhouse in montour iowa cuz that is where we are going ... hey i am just glad that the hate about our team and players has calmed down big time from where it had been for the last week or so.

and you are a true gem to the backside of luv

Thanks to English or whichever mod got us back to football and Kap.

Just a couple notes:

Good news: Wow, in just a couple weeks Chip accomplished what Harbaw never could (or maybe didn't want to)...Chip worked with Kap and now Kap can throw those 3-5 yarders and complete them. Ok, some of that may be due to Kap losing so much weight and strength, so maybe he just can't throw as hard as he used to. But nonetheless, Kap threw a bunch of short passes and completed them.

BAd news: It was our 2s and 3s playing against their 2s and 3s, and there was NO blitzing, no real passrush, so Kap did this completely unhindered, and was able to complete the short ones. However, he stared down his receivers right to the bitter end, locked on , never looked elsewhere, and against the starting SD Defense, I bet virtually all those passes would have been incomplete or , INTs. Still they WERE completions, and that is something Kap has never done with the short passes. He showed good poise for a team with suddenly no QB, and Minn, DAL, had to have seen his work. I guess the possibility of trade is still there, but his salary pretty much negates that. From drumming up interest based on his play last nite, I would say Kap had a good nite for prospective teams needing a QB.

In the end, I would have to agree with Phoenix's thots on Kap, plus a couple of my own.
Whatever we do, keep in mind this is for this yr, and we need to get our Franchise QB early next draft(Phoenix). Do what is good for the team this yr. Remember if Kap gets injured, we are going to be on the hook again next yr for yet another $14 mil ....in additon to this yr's $14 mil which he has already earned.

In the interest of the team, based on that, I would say to cut him and go with Driskell and ponder backing up Gab. We need team managers this yr, and those guys could do that. That way there is no chance of Kap getting injured. That potential $14mil (in case of injury) could then go to WRs, OLBs, or ILBs. ...then we trade up and probably have to pull a Philly or LA and give up our first 3 picks the next two yrs in the 2017 draft. We will not be picking in the top 5. My 6Ws guess in W/L is going to be short some Ws, so I feel we will not be picking early....nor really late either.

After suffering through Kap's play the last couple seasons, he didn't do enough to make me confident.

His brief moments of lucidity are overshadowed by catastrophic failures at multiple points. (reads, accuracy)

Me too!!! And by the way, you ever get out to the Northwest,I an in Washington, up north on the border of the Idaho panhandle, I would do the same. I can't say we would compete with Iowa beef, but the scenery would definitely make up for it lol.
I don't think we've seen what this offense can really do yet with either quarterback. It seems like Chips been running simple plays and just wants to see who can keep the offense on schedule during the preseason especially at the beginning of the game. I think it's unfair to say either Kap or Gab can't through downfield since we have only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this offense.

I think once the regular season begins and the playbook opens up and they start game planning we'll see more downfield throws from the team especially once the offense/quarterback gets into a rhythm.

That said it was encouraging seeing Kap throw on time and being decisive throwing the ball minus a couple throws where Kap got lucky since I think this is one of his biggest weaknesses and is Gabs strength. Hopefully Kap continues to work on the timing/anticipation throws. If he can improve in that area he could be very good.

I doesn't matter what Kap did - Gabs is going to be named the starter. When Gabs starts struggling, Kap will be back in there. When Kap starts struggling, Gab will be back in there and over and over again, throughout the season. I think my head is going to explode.

Good points. Liked the post. My biggest concern about Kap's play is what you outlined in your last paragraph. If he can improve there he could be good. But my assertion is that he hasn't yet, and I am not sure if he can or will. Go Niners!
clean cut Kap or afro Kap?

He played against 2nd teamers, vs. base defense with very little to no blitzing and was almost picked twice. Fools gold I'm good, they probably won't release him but when he starts to falter or start more conflict we'll be right back to where we were at the beginning of the off season.
