On that completion to Dres Anderson that was nearly an interception, it does look like maybe Kap at least tried to keep his eyes in the middle of the field first instead staring down in the direction of the two receivers the whole way through, if only for a moment. Can't see what that safety does until the ball is already by Anderson, so it's hard to say what happened.
I looked at that play half a dozen times and I see no helmet moved by CK that would indicate he looked anywhere but Anderson.
It's between his 2nd and 3rd step of his dropback. I definitely could just be looking too much into it or misinterpreting it though.
I see him getting the snap, look up, then left. If he did tried to hold the safety by looking down the middle, it wasn't enough.
That's pretty much what I thought initially, so I'll just go ahead and finish what my train of thought was.
If it was a middle safety(well, higher than the one that dropped down) which I'm gonna guess there was, Kap either pretty much negated trying to hold him and should be faulted for the almost pick. Or, it could be spun that he did just barely enough to rocket the ball in have that not intercepted. Although admittedly, that's not good either. Just to cover my bases in case I was wrong, if there wasn't a middle safety, and the safety that almost picked Kap was already in that area when the ball was snapped, maybe Kap just thought he could rocket the ball in there. Which wouldn't be good either.
I don't think I would fault Kaep too much on this play. I think the ball was thrown a tad late. It gave the safety on the outside to closed on the pass in addition to Anderson's route going towards that safety. The pass must be thrown earlier. This is where I think Kaep has to be even more confident and account for his wind up and timing of the throw.
There was another safety in the middle but he's almost out of the play. He was more for the inside receiver than Anderson on the outside. Kaep's head movement shouldn't matter because it's a quick strike throw.
This is a pic just as Anderson turn to look for the ball. The ball should be out of Kaep's hand or at the very least with a forward motion to release the ball. But Kaep is still in the middle of his throwing motion. Anderson ended up getting the ball in front of the goal line, but it shouldn't be that deep. Gave the safety a good play on the ball that was almost INT.
