People like to romanticize certain players while demonizing others.

Gabs, Alex, Kaep. Same production. 2 of those players are treated like the 2nd coming of Marino on here, while the other is Tebow.

This may be the Kelly-Baalke power struggle, if Kap plays and has a season ending injury, next year could very well be guaranteed to the tune of 14 mill.

So why not cut him. Either make him available to Kelly or cut him. If there is another power struggle going on with the 49ers that FO is doomed to be dysfunctional forever.

Let's just compare on field performance. Everyone knows our front office is stupid right? Kap's salary would seem to reflect that. Highest paid backup ever.

Only a backup due to injury. Spin it any way you want.

He's the highest paid backup because no team on the planet would pay a QB that kind of money and assemble a putrid team and staff around him.

Weird how people play dumb around here, or maybe they're just trolling.
You would know. You are a master at at it.

When, or if, Kap plays again there will be room for debate. Until then he is just one of the 32 second string QBs on the bench.

Only because his arm hurt in the preseason. That's all. Kap is really the starter. He's just taking a break. That's all.

x2

The only reason Kap is on the bench is because he isn't 100%. Anyone that has followed this team for longer than 6 months knows that Kap is not the same player. And I'm not saying he's Joe Montana, but he is a lot smaller all around. Lost a lot of muscle and weight after all those surgeries.

When he's close to 100% or when Gabbert sucks royally (whichever comes first) is when Kap becomes #1.

And don't be surprised if Ponder becomes #2. He just needs to get more familiarized with the system.

Unfortunately they won't let Kaepernick under center. Apparently he likes to roll the offense on his knees and Chip probably isn't too keen on running the victory formation all game. What a loser. Eat more veggies Kaeped*ick.

No, one is talked about and given excuses ad nauseum. Another plays for K. C. The other is our starter. And most aren't pleased that he is. You are the only one that senses Gabbert worship. But Kap is where he is because of how he played. As much as that irks you.

Honestly I'm tired of the "Kap friendly" BS. We need an "offense friendly" Colin Kaepernick.

This guy gets it.
Not a huge fan of his quarterbacking skills, but I like that he's donating to the cause unlike some who just talk the talk.
