This is why I don't beleive he regressed...but just a setback

I wonder who Kap was throwing to!

See, neither of them knows - that's why this drop was Kaepernick's fault - get it together, Kaepernick!

And BTW, he threw it with touch. If he would have fired into Vance's numbers, Vernon couldn't have broken it up. Thanks, Kaepernick. You blew it.

That's false as well

What's false? My statement?

Please tell me how this isn't just terrible.....

The guy doesn't do this a whole lot, but, to say this isn't bonehead......

I never said that's all he does - I said that his INT's were results of bonehead plays - not taking a risk.

Yeah, that makes sense, because we traded for Stevie Johnson and Boldin while AS was still here..... oh wait.....

The Niner Talk obsessive argument about Alex Smith gains a new life in the Kaepernick thread.

When I here misreading the defense..I see some other defender(safety) come up and make the int...the example you have looks like kaep risking and forcing ?

I.E. bonehead.... I said misreading OR bonehead

Either way, it was contrary to the assertion you made about his INT's being "risk" based throws. That he takes more risks than a former QB who shall remain nameless for the sake of the thread.

Are people complaining about Kaepernick's interceptions? Great. The NFL QB with the lowest interception percentage in history for QB's throwing at least 1500 passes is Aaron Rodgers at 1.6%. Brady is in second at 2.0%.

Kaepernick still hasn't thrown 1500 passes so he's not on the list. He's about 400 attempts short, but currently his Int % is a little less than 2%.

Complain all you want, but the numbers don't really show a QB with an interception problem.

I never said I was complaining about his INT% - it's pretty darn good. It was more about the causation of the INT's.

Also, there was a misread of the defense here too, if you jog on over to the passing concepts thread, you'll see this was the first play broken down in that thread.

Misreading the defense causes undue risk. That's the whole point of the criticism. He didn't have to throw to a risky target if he had made the appropriate read. Doh!

Kaep can throw deep, Alex was a dinker. Either way, our roster was still tailored for Smith. A bunch of intermediate specialists at WR. Enter: Torrey Smith, something we haven't had since Kaep has become starter, a deep threat with a solid WR skill set. Ginn, Davis had speed but no hands, and when we bring in DGB we will have Anquan Boldin on steroids. Thunder and Lightning baby. Kaeps projected stats: 25 TDs 10 INTs 3,800 Yds passing 400 yds rushing.

Yeah, that makes sense, because we traded for Stevie Johnson and Boldin while AS was still here..... oh wait.....

I love how this type of stuff is A-OK to bring up in the Kap thread but if you even hint at comparing the two in the Smith thread mods are there within minutes to shutdown any type of conversation about it.
