Looked great tonight! A few bad throws, but that is just being picky. He stepped up, ran when he had to, and generally waited to throw his passes. I felt like he was under a fair amount of pressure to, and seemed to overcome it. I believe the playcalling helped significantly, as the delay of games and wasted timeouts (except one) were pretty much nonexistent. They also didn't seem to hang him out to dry play after play after play. Overall, the playcalling seemed to have good tempo.

I don't think Minnesota is a good gauge of where we stand. Bridgewater made some very questionable decisions...

A win showed up tonight. Enjoy it!
Looked real sharp tonight. Few missed throws but you name me a QB that doesn't. In the red zone he just had to make sure elguapo got that ball!! I've been saying we are better at skill positions. Vernon should be back in form. Torrey, Hyde, Elkington and Patton a year improved with actual playing time.

Definitely things to be excited about

He def looked confident but yes, need to see it against better competition

Read 1, read 2, read 3, run? oops there is read 4 and he is...open. When was the last time anybody said that about Kap. Wow, what a difference a real HC, a real OC and a real QB coach have made...plus, you could see kap put some air under a few balls, a perfect touch. When he got excited on a few plays well into the second half, he did revert to the high hard one...ie, his super fast fastball. But only a couple. The rest of the time he just played fantastic. Congrats kap, great game. Great game plan, great coaching.

17of 26 for 165 yards 0 TD 0 Ints

65.38% Completion Rate

6.346154 yards per attempt

QB Rating of 83.0

One game done----at least 15 dmore to go

Played a smart game and kept his eyes downfield. Threw some passes away.

I would say Kaepernick's off-season work showed up tonight.

I'd say the oline showed up tonight.

And Carlos Hyde

And the coaching staff

And the defense

Overall a step forward. Still more work to do.

Lets all be honest with each other.

me first - I love Metallica and Guns N Roses...but I will listen and sing along to Taylor Swift with my young daughter because she loves it.

now that that is out of the way...

This was Kaps "Pre-season" game. He didn't get the benefit of enough playing time with real plays and o-line.
was rusty and some (very few) timing issues.

now that its out of the way.....LOOK OUT PITT!

Need to see Coaches film. But yeah seemed the deep stuff was blocked off. As far as Kap tho his comfort is there. He had some bad throws but hopefully thats just rust (didnt play much in preseason). Deep ball accuracy is still an issue but we gotta believe that'll be tuned right eventually. The key is to keep taking shots with TSmith or Ellington every game no matter what.
nobody will make perfect throws every time that's ok. the coaches put him in a rhythm and he made a myriad of throws. touch passes bullets long short all of them throws where the receivers could run after the catch all night long. total control over this offense. wait until next week when the steelers try and make sure that hyde doesn't go off and that secondary is left to deal with ellington/torrey and vd running deep.

And that's the point many of us made all last year...and the year before. Coaching and play calling can really help the OL! Or if the coaches choose to run into a stack and force your OL to beat their guys one on one every down...they can really hurt the OL. I was so surprised at how tough the right side held firm tonight...wonderful to watch. All that movement and using extra TEs really confused the Vikings.

we have been saying this for YEARS nobody tried to hear it
If you think about it we didn't show a lot on tape. I don't have All 22 but I'd imagine this game won't show Pittsburgh much. I think we'll go down field more next week.

agreed
Played Alex Smith in his niner heyday style. Let the defense and running game grind it out. Made plays when he had to. Its all about that dub.
And now those few remaining harbaw fans see why we so desperately needed a good HC, OC and QB coach. Kap could very easily have done these things last yr, except, harbaw would never have thot of them. And that is why he is back in college and Coach JT is here. Now we get to see what kap can do. Got a taste of it tonite, but just a taste. He will get a lot better. This game he looked way better than any game last yr,, except maybe for the first one or so. Now we got our kap back...and it feels great.

Yup!

And just like my opinion back in said heyday, the production needs to get better. Didn't play bad tonight. I just want more.
