Basically until he is league MVP and...not or mind you, a Superbowl champion they will continue to bash and probably if that day ever came they would act like they were behind him the whole time.

About sums it up. It's the Steve Young trash all over again.... I remember the calls for Bono and Gurback

I'm sure at least one of the more vocal detractors was one of those guys.
he's not allowed to cut his hair or shave anymore lol

Like watch Carlos Hyde for 168 yards?

And Carlos Hyde watched Kaepernick keep drives going so he could get those 168 yards and certainly his 2 TDs

You see any drives where we ran all the way down for TDs? Then what's your point other than try to crap on Kap?

Another poster pointed this out, too many fantasy bafoons. Kaep played awesome and those TD's by Hyde didn't happen because Kaep was playing average. The Vikes D started playing scared giving Hyde that half second to just KILL them with the zone run. Kaep and the OLINE Pass blocking made that happen.

But the paper posters obviously didn't see this happen.
Kap looked much improved over last year. I look what I see. He looked a lot more comfortable in the pocket and delivered nice soft passes to TEs underneath coverage. I hope to see continued improvement to receivers. Go Kap!
Kaepernick didn't play bad, but I wouldn't go as far to say he played awesome either.

When the defense and Hyde are dominant, like they were, all Kaepernick needs to do is not f**k up, which he didn't.

The real test will come when Hyde is getting shut down, and the defense is giving up points.

When your running back is averaging 6.5 yards per carry, and that average is not really being inflated by a 70+ yard run, the team needs to stick with running the ball. Minnesota had no answer for Hyde.

Kap played a very efficient game and moved the chains when he had to. There were a few poor throws, but nothing that stands out at truly, truly awful. Would I have liked to have seen Kap put up 300 yards passing? Of course. But the Niners were so dominant running the ball it just wasn't going to happen.

Give Kap credit, he looked very comfortable and in control of this offense. He was not rushed nor was he panicking out there. He repeatedly did what many posters have said he is incapable of doing, and that is step up in the pocket and find the open man. It wasn't a spectacular day by Kap, but it was a solid day.

The quarterback is supposed to lead the team to victory.
If your running back is lighting it up because the other team is keeping safeties deep? don't be peyton manning and insist on throwing the ball.. hand the ball off.
he had total control over the huddle/game.
he was completely comfortable with the game plan and the oc called a great game.
the pocket was there and he maneuvered it masterfully .
all the things i said he does he did. clean pocket? he stepped up numerous times.
didn't run when he could have in favor of passing to someone
hit his check downs because they were finally an option.
this is just the beginning.
wait until a team tries to bring people up to stop hyde.. then torrey, ellington and vd are going to be matched up against 1 safety and that 2nd level is going to be wide open.

the 2nd level was wide open last night and we tore them up on it.
Bless your heart Trent Dilfer
Agree, fantasy makes people want 400 yards and a loss over 165 yards and a win. This league wants Luck, Manning, Rodgers, Brees arena ball thats why there are so many penalties against the defense and they make it so hard to cover. They want yards and points not hard nosed running and defense anymore. Goodell is just giving casual fans and fantasy nerds what they want and it's ruining the game.

Side note Kap really looked like a leader out there. He did a great job keeping his eyes down field and ran when he had to. He had some nice footwork in the pocket as well. If you look at stats Kap looks like a bad game and Bridgewater had a good game when it was the opposite. 50 of Bridgewater's 250 yards came on 2 plays right before half when we were 20 yards off. Kap had 2 first down runs on 3rd down, kept drives going with his feet and some nice throws. We aren't going to pass the ball when youre averaging 5-7 yards a pop get use to it. Thats how we played the last 4+ years.

full circle
Kaepernick protected the ball, stayed poised, used great touch on most passes, ran efficiently and basically controlled the pace of the game...in the huddle and at the LOS. Loved the no huddle and Hyde's ability to evade and take the ball around end...not sure that will happen against better defenses, but they only used part of the toy box last night! Very excited for and by this young team!

For those who like ESPN's QBR and I do not.

Kaepernick had a QBR of 75.8 in the game against the Vikings----9th best in the league.

Last year many posters, mainly to argue that Kaepernick is not a good quarterback, cited his low QBR quite regularly

kap missed some throws, vernon dropped a pass or two, theres room for improvement but he did lead his receivers and had good pocket awareness for the most part. still wish he would learn to throw the damn ball away sometimes instead of running out behind the line of scrimmage
