Kaepernick had a QBR of 75.8 in the game against the Vikings----9th best in the league.

Last year many posters, mainly to argue that Kaepernick is not a good quarterback, cited his low QBR quite regularly

I'm not a big fan of QBR either because it still can't provide the needed context. Kaepernick played well but not nearly to his top level so I expect him, and the offense, to be better and better as the year progresses.
Like direct tv, i want Monday night against the bears Kap. His throws were perfect.

of course he missed some throws. show me a qb who didn't throw an incomplete pass?
there's always room for improvement.
his passes were on target AND he put the ball into his receivers hands in a position that they could turn and make a play. they caught it and got yards because of the throws

so many touch passes. especially that touch pass to vernon on 2nd and 20 that went up over the linebacker and right down to vd for the 19 yard gain

Fact is Kap ALWAYS shows up in prime time. He's the only QB in the division who can put the team on his back.

The important thing is that he looked confident, sure of himself and comfortable with what he was being asked to do.

Last season, not so much, if he can build on this, with a legitimate deep threat in Torrey, we could see some much more explosive games from him.

Confidence is the crucial thing, as he builds it, he will become very dangerous for opposing defenses.
Kap played well. He was comfertable, making reads, and running when needed.

He's not going to have sexy stats unless we get invllved in shootouts. We are a ground and pound team.

But what we saw yesterday was a good thing.

And yeah, his touch is developing. Watch out league.

Agreed and lots of progression reads too. Nice balance of running to throw and running as a last resort.

I thought he's a Ferrari not a Prius
Next RG3 huh? Lol
He moved in the pocket better, but IMO did not throw better. Some ducks and mis-fires

Still waiting for him to connect deep with our "big" FA Torrey Smith.

As soon as defenses have their safeties creeping up to stop hyde...it could lead to big plays downfield for torrey or vernon.

that's exactly the point. fans. please realize. you may want him to throw a bomb ever play and complete 100% of his passes but that isn't real life.
if he throws it 26 times and completes 65% of his passes that is a GOOD NIGHT.

the one "deep" shot that people will point to was a throw away. it was double covered so he threw it out of bounds that is SMART quarterbacking.

he hit all of his receivers in a position for them to run after the catch.. actually creating lots of bigger gains and actual 1st downs.

the vikings prepared to take torrey smith away deep. they kept the safeties back all night. so we took the underneath. we made sure that we took the intermediate and underneath stuff and did what we were supposed to do.
when a team decides they want to crowd the box and only keep a single safety. ellington/torrey/vd will have a lot of open field to work with.

a play action bootleg? a play action fake with only 1 safety who has to cover that speed? the big throws will be there.

it is pick your poison and that's how it always should have been.

also. he only ran when he absolutely had to. and every run was a smart run. wide open obvious running lanes for 15 yards a rip.

Teams will have to choose between keeping a safety over the top or loading the box up to stop Hyde. Eitherway this team is far better positioned on offense than they were last season.
