Still waiting for him to connect deep with our "big" FA Torrey Smith.

Teams will have to choose between keeping a safety over the top or loading the box up to stop Hyde. Eitherway this team is far better positioned on offense than they were last season.

Pitt was 6th in run defense last year and 27th in pass defense...I expect more passing this coming week. 26th in sacks...so I hope that stays true for this game!

Fact is Kap ALWAYS shows up in prime time. He's the only QB in the division who can put the team on his back.

Well...

Unless you don't consider Thanksgiving Night as prime time, lol
yeah passing game is still trying to find its groove... They couldn't get into rhythm in the preseason...so it seemed like they were trying to get into rhythm on the fly last night.

Kap and Vernon.... I still expect them to look much better in these next few weeks.

also, although they might have not looked so well... I think some are underestimating the Vikings. I expect them to also play better against other teams. I think it was our defense that made them look bad, more so than their offense being terrible.

So lucky it was shoulder to shoulder! Broken rib, concussion...many bad things can come from a hit like that one!

this was kind of the point i was trying to make in the 1st half last night and then everyone just went nuclear and started slamming me. Yes, he looked much calmer in the pocket and just in general and i thought he played a decent/good game. However, when I see the OL giving great protection coupled with an OUTSTANDING run game, i guess i just expected him to have the time to hit guys that were open down field and some better accuracy. Maybe my expectations are just set way to high, and that may be why i was so quick to jump on him last night about maybe not being the answer. I just have had super high expectations for him since his rookie year..so maybe those need to be tempered.

He bounced up like nothing happened. Kaepernick is a tough QB.

One of the things I noticed is that he looks like he's in "no man's land" in terms of his form at times. He clearly has improved but I think muscle memory is kicking his ass at times and he ends up stuck in the middle between the way he trained with Warner in the offseason and the way he used to do it. Over time those errors will be eliminated, its just all about getting enough reps to "de-program" himself.

He will have some ugly moments because of it but he is making progress, he is being more patient, looking more confident, it will take some time but he is definitely going in the right dirrection.

yeah but I'm cool off him taking more hits like that.... last year he took too many hits as well.. more so than his previous years.

Also I don't like us exposing Torrey Smith in the middle...dude took a tough hit as well. Just send him deep every other play.
Thought Kap had some good throws like this one.(at 2:50 and 3 min) he was scanning the field and was STILL a run threat but a QB 1st.

still got to work on that deep ball a little though. I think once he becomes more confident in the OL and the game plan allows for more passing we will see what he can do!

I will take Kap from last night all day if.....our defense plays like that, our running game is clicking, plus he commits NO TURNOVERS all about controlling the clock and making smart reads. Love seeing JT yelling tempo!

RG3 is a house of cards. A hit like the one above would have ended his career.
I liked some things we saw last night. We say Kaepernick stay in the pocket at times and slide around. We saw him climb the pocket. We definitely saw him going through reads and hitting 2nd and 3rd options. We saw him throw touch passes and we saw him throw short ones to running backs.

In short, we saw him do a lot of things that people around here like to say he can't do.

Agreed! I would have to rewatch, but he seemed to step up in the pocket pretty well. Also, he seemed to be "smarter" about his decisions on when to run or throw.
