f**k Cossell, dude has it out for Kap

what many of us have said remained true.
we have said when there is a pocket to climb, he does. he has since game 1. last season the guards were giving up immediate pressure or the pressure was coming from the guards..leaving no pocket to climb. if there is nothing to climb how can you do it? are you supposed to run into the rush? lol

Cossell has been pissing me off since the opener vs Dallas last year. Kaps throw to Boldin went for a huge gain. It was a great throw. Cossell said that because of Kaps bad pocket presence he basically caused the linemen to rush him which made the throw more difficult. It was complete BS, Kap stepped up in the pocket to simply avoid him and make the throw. Cossell is so biased.

Here's the play:

Pathetic when grown men are jealous of other men, especially those, decades younger and more talented. Seriously, this guy is a joke, forget who he's related to, if his last name was different he would have been an accountant. f**k em.

i am unable to transfer it over here because i am stupid about these things , but peter king did a really nice short write up today about ck. i know we are not supposed to care what the media thinks but still, it is nice to see a good article about ck compared to the trash i have seen from ratto and cosell trying to dilute ck and the win
K guys, homer hats off for one sec...

You see, we can cherry pick plays all we want to prove Cossell wrong but I'm pretty sure his analysis of Kaep is based on his "consistency". Can he do these things consistently?!? That's what matters.

So we should stop acting like Cossell is out for Kaep, you guys thought the same about his analysis about Alex. The dude is a pro QB film watcher...we're no where near as qualified.

Wow, I kind of agree with this. Now, I've got a headache.

1. I think, at times, I couldn't believe my eyes watching Colin Kaepernick Monday night. He showed totally newfound poise as a drop-back passer. Not only did he climb the pocket and work deep into progressions, he also kept his eyes downfield. That's something a typical running QB, and especially the Kaepernick of old, does not naturally do. Best of all, Kaepernick still made plays with his feet when appropriate. It was not a flawless performance by any means, and Kaepernick was aided by fantastic play-calling from new coordinator Geep Chryst, who used multi-tight end formations, moving pockets and the running game to get his QB comfortable. But if Kaepernick builds on this performance and becomes a respectable pocket passer, we'd be looking at one of football's greatest quarterbacking growth spurts.

Greg Cosell is giving his opinion of Kaepernick and because you don't like it you think he's just jealous of Kaepernick. Hilarious!!

Cosell has been working with NFL Films for longer than most fans on this site have been alive. He's asked his opinion on teams/QBs by the media all over the country because of his experience. His last name has nothing to do with it.

He's also a Human being. If he does not like Kap (the haters share similar reasons...) he can easily work, seemingly objectively, within the confines of an agenda.
And you're acting like he never got his gig because of his last name instead of some innate genius gift he possessed as a child prodigy.

You think he knows more about being a QB than a professional QB? Yeah I'd say he has plenty of reasons to be jealous, your kidding right. Envy is an actual word in the dictionary. I can call him a hater but I chose to use the subconscious reasoning towards most hate, which is jealousy.

So his job is to watch NFL game film, big deal. Do you think game film is locked away in some government bunker in Nevada? His job is not special, it was not awarded due to merit (after all its not rocket science) but merely because of his last name, but keep telling yourself the opposite.

He's a hater, simple as that.

I posted what he said about Kap, and a gif of the play in question.

You can make up your own mind.

russell wilson does not look past his 1st read. if that 1st read isn't there he is automatically in scramble mode. he does no hitch step he does no climbing the pocket. as soon as that 1st read is done he cradles the ball looks around to see if there is pressure and then rolls out to try and create a play.

there is a clear double standard here. why does the quarterback need to make impossible throws? lol the object of the game is the make all of the easy throws you can and win the game. nobody WANTS to make impossible throws.

Wilson is pretty phenomenal at buying time until someone is open though! I think the key to playing Seattle (one of the keys) is for the DBs to be patient and stick with their guys until the whistle...trust the front seven.

Yeah but the point is that he is very quick to get off his read and then literally look or hope or want a DL is coming at him. It's almost like it waiting to scramble helps him know where the bodies are so that he feels safer. A straight drop with eyes down the field exposes QBs for that one hard unseen hit. Wilson scrambles firs so that hit doesn't come and then looks.
Kaep still has some improving to do. Most people can only judge on last year, so I don't take what others say as a negative. Cosell did say nice things in camp this year about Kaep, but like everything in life there is practice and then there is showtime. I have always supported Kaep and feel that he needed to be coached up but you need to build around him like any QB and not make him fit the scheme.

Either that or draft players that fit your mode of operandi.
I don't recall Cossell being labeled a hater when he ripped Alex week after week lol
