How is Kap rated 20 and below Bridgwater?

Because people are stupid.

This guy is rating this based on week 1 so far. He puts Peyton way down the list but puts Wilson in his top 10? Ok. Wilson was s**t in game 1.

That makes his rankings even worse lol. He's basing the rankings on week 1 and STILL ranks Bridgewater ahead of Kap!? Did he not see the 49ers vs. Vikings game? He was able to compare and contrast both QBs in the same game lol.

Regardless, I think we all know Kap put together a pretty decent game. He'll earn more respect as the year goes on, he looked vastly improved in the pocket to me. Didn't translate into big numbers, but we didn't need him to. Those big games are coming, he's making great progress.

Who is Arthur Moats and why is he talking? Marginal starter at best.
Why does Kap have to prove himself?

People have ridiculously high standards, especially around these parts.

Steve Young was winning passing titles and MVP awards, and he never proved himself until he won a SB. That's what it'll take.

Kaep can be a part and win five SB's and he'll be still haunted by the fact he's not Tom Brady. Therefore, he'll never will be an average QB. Because, if one has to admit that he met said standard, it would mean that one's analysis may have been flawed. And the ego will not tolerate contradiction in assumption.

T Brady pretty much has an asterisk next to all his accolades.

That's funny fly...because 4 days ago it sounded like RG3 was about to get his walking papers....an out and out release.
I sense a huge game incoming for Kaepernick. I expect to see Vernon, Boldin and Torrey all make some big plays too. That Steelers secondary is a mess and I don't expect the Steelers to get home against Kaep because we're going to design a gameplan that won't allow it to happen. Good luck stopping Hyde too. I know the run D is a lot better than the pass D, but it doesn't matter. The kid is that special.

Has had an NFL career that's lasted longer than it should have because of one hit.

There was about 9 posters saying that about Cossell...around 50 saying he was right lol

Cossell's remarks for Alex Smith were actually based on something everyone can see from game film, which is he was hesitant to throw passes into tight coverage and in doing so let opportunity go by. It's not saying a team was hiding a QB. Big difference IMO.

You can see on film if there is enough space to make the throw to a receiver but the QB decides to not and dump it off or eat the sack. Kap's issue is certainly not being afraid to make the contested throws. So please stop comparing the analysis.

This will be a good test to see if he can play with what the defense gives him rather than trying to shut somebody up even if it's not the best idea scheme wise. Granted Moats isn't Richard Sherman but still...use the comments to fuel you to play at another level but be smart about it and don't try and do too much and hurt the team as a result.

Hopefully our offense comes to play like they did in the second half of Monday night and Kap connects on some bombs and makes all the throws he needs to.

I would take RGIII in a heart beat. I think he could be great, we just need to rebuild him. We should Blaine Gabbert him, I'm sure in time he'd be far more capable. If we sat him for two years as Kaps back up and just let him watch and learn, he'd be great insurance and maybe even a high round trade bate to a QB needy team a couple years from now. Who knows, he could be our next Steve Young story.

This has always been true of QBs. Archie Manning is never mentioned as a great QB because he played for an atrocious team and didn't win a SB. Jim Kelly is almost forgotten because he lost SBs. Some of this is justified in that a QB can be excellent but not cool in the clutch, but most of it is luck. Montana was Joe Cool, and you could see it at ND...but he also lucked out being drafted by Walsh and playing on niner teams built for championships.

Young had one of the toughest transitions in NFL history, bombing in his early career and then replacing a beloved HofF QB before he was completely washed up. So glad he was able to vindicate himself by winning it all!

Kaepenick seems like a guy who will be a closer, which is that final step any QB has to take to be taken as great! Just hope this OL give him enough time to hit TSmith and Boldin. Patton and Ellington are still very disappointing. Never thought I'd be anxious for Simpson's return...or not as much.
