Another Aussie here, I don't pretend to be an expert on QB play. But,anyone could see that Kap did well to make any plays at all with that crappy O-line. The defenders were all over him as soon as he got the ball, even worse for the RBs. He also didn't make the recievers fumble. I think he can hold his head high.

Kap got us in good positions and bailed out sloppy play by everyone on offense.

This..... Why did we sign Smith if he is not going to be on he field? I would like to see the % he was on the field today, and why after half time did we run single WR so much

this is a dangerous situation, because a mediocre performance by the QB, that helped to the opponent to establish a big lead (among other factors, eg. a bad defense), is forgotten by statistics that were inflated late in the game, when it was already decided.
Nobody is glorifying his statistics. We all saw the game. Kap didn't put us in a 26 point hole. He didn't drop passes. He didn't blow coverage or protection assignments. He did what he could.
People expect him to make plays out of thin air when the o-line is getting dominated both in the run game and pass game. The defense gives up completions of 59, 56, 48, 41, 35 and 28 yards. But yeah, let's trash Kap for the next week, it was all on him.
You would think that Kaep threw a couple of pick six's and had a fumble in the end zone.

And if we are going to have a single WR on the field it needs to be Smith.... He can stretch the defense and TE and RB catch the stuff underneath

Kap and the offense moved the ball well. Problem was they couldn't punch it in the end zone.

Kap couldn't cover Antonio Brown or rush Big Ben for s**t today, or block for himself.....it's all his fault.

3.97 yards per pass attempt in the first 30 passes. Yes; really well.

Srsly. I'm convinced people have no clue what they're watching 90% of the time.

I liked Kap's game, but I agree he wasn't as good as his stat line says.
33/46 335yds 7.3ypa rating:106.7
But he isn't even close to being as bad as 43-18. Really curious what he was seeing in the red zone pass plays.

We had some unfortunate issues with the OL today, but I thought Kap played a very good game. With the horrible overall team performance, it was nice to see some progress from our QB.

I think there is still stuff he can improve on, but Colin Kaepernick was not the problem out there today. The entire team (starting with the OL and his receivers) got their asses handed to them by a team which was playing a lot more aggressively. The Niners lost the battle of the trenches and they got straight up punked by the Steelers.

Agree. He needs to cash in the TDs when we're in the RZ, but I don't fault him for anything that happened in between the 20's today. He was seeing the field clearly. The line was a mess.

From what I saw is we had some poorly designed roll out passes on play action and some weak WR screens. They didn't let him stand tall and read the field until it was too late.
