Added gif of Boone giving up the sack. But 3rd and Goal from the 22 yard line, that's improbable anyways.

I expected PIT to put up about 21-28 points, I didn't expect that barrage of scoring so fast and early on.

Kap played really well. I like this pass a lot, nice touch on 4th down.

This is my favorite pass he's made this year...maybe ever. Over the shoulder, perfectly timed, perfect arc, and not leading VD into a hit!

This is the type of arm angle throw I want to see Kap make more often.

Me neither. We've seen some bad days in the past, like last year against Denver, but I've haven't seen our secondary shredded quite like that in a long time.

They gave up completions of 59, 56, 48, 41, 35 and 28 yards. Deep shot after deep shot.

I just checked out all the 1st half and drives and this is how they stalled.

1st Drive:
3rd & 7 - Boldin drops what would have been a first down conversion on a pass over the middle.

*PIT scores on ensuing drive (8-0)

2nd Drive:
1st & Goal (from 9 yard line) - Holding EPears on a run play
1st & Goal - Boldin blows a blocking assignment on a WR screen (-4 yards)
2nd & Goal - busted RB screen (-4 yards)
3rd & Goal - Boone gives up immediate pressure. Sacked for -7

Dawson with FG made

*PIT scores on ensuing drive (16-3)

3rd Drive:
Run
Run
3rd & 7 - Devey/Martin allow unblocked pressure up the middle. Kap also runs backwards. Sacked for loss of -17.

*PIT scores on ensuing drive (22-3)

4th Drive:
Right after a nice +18 yard catch to TSmith, Hyde/Kap with a lost fumble on a bad handoff.

*PIT scores on ensuing drive (29-3)

5th Drive (2 minute drill with one timeout left)
Never really pushed the ball downfield.
3rd & 5 - Short pass to VD knocked away incomplete. End of half.

Thank for this. It's amazing how quickly a game can spiral out of control when you don't take advantage of scoring opportunities. This loss certainly had a lot to do with the defense, but there were offensive miscues that prevented us from keeping the game a little closer. It could have, and probably should have, been a shootout.

They're gonna be driving out Kap in a hearse if they don't fix the o-line.

But, but....I thought he can NEVER throw with touch....are you telling me that played out narratives are false.

Seriously, how anyone can actually watch these games and not come away at least impressed somewhat is beyond me. Kap is making strides and we will be better off for it.

This. In the long-run we will be fine with Kap making these type of strides. Yesterday's game was a disaster, but Kap provided some hope. Need to tighten up things on the o-line and defense. We have a winning QB.

That Boldin drop was just brutal. They had a nice drive going, Kaep was making nice throws, they would have been in FG range and possibly scored with the way they were moving. I'm not saying that would have changed the outcome of the game but things just escalated very quickly after that. Big momentum play

Agree. Defense is the main reason the game spiraled out of control, but the offense missed out on countless opportunities to score. Penalties, dropped passes, sacks, and RZ woes continue to haunt the team.
People please remember that kap was pressured on 44% of his dropbacks. He escaped an additional 4-5 sacks bc he kicks ass. Even if his ypa was low, he was still very accurate and lookin to pass first despite his s**tty ol especially Martin and pears.

Kap threw accurately and with touch against constant pressure. Kap was actually so accurate today whenever he had more than 2-3 seconds to throw I would yell "completed pass" and guess what.......it was. If our OL improves, we will be unstoppable. Boldin and t smith are great wrs and VD is a very good te. Hyde is a beast. So maybe we switch Martin to rg and put in the Baltimore center we traded for bc Martin is inexcusable.
Anyone putting any blame on Kaep for this loss is nothing more than a hater. Inspite of a horrid o line, penalties, dropped passes and a coaching staff that was late to adjust, Kaep still put up decent numbers. He came out of the game with a 72% completion rate, 335 yards passing and 2 (should have been 3) TD passes. Infact, Kaep was the only bright spot of the day. The rest of the team looked like garbage.
Torrey Smith showed some real good hands today on some of those Kap passes, very nice catches.

I believe that has to be the most yards he's ever thrown for. He was definitely the only bright spot on the day.
