You're right, as soon as the ball is snapped and in Kap's hands he should just toss it up because I'm not exactly sure how you could be any quicker. And then as soon as he does that it will be seconds before posters are complaining that if he waited a half second longer he would have seen a receiver come open.

you are a dumb p.o.s

Lol

Well, what I'm getting at is I don't think the line I posted is "decent". "Decent" to me implies "mediocre", but I thought Kap was better than that. Not trying to turn this into a discussion of semantics, I just think you're selling him a little short.
Also, I have to say that Ryan Shazier really impressed me. There were a couple times when Kaepernick left the pocket and was about to run for a huge gain, but was unexpectedly stopped by Shazier. That guy can fly.

PFF graded this as Kaepernick's best game as a passer in his career FWIW. For the season so far, they have him ranked as the #4 passer in the league.

This. He was the only bright spot in a otherwise lousy game.

Gotta be a premium member at Profootballfocus.com. Here is their game summary though https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/09/21/sf-pit-grades-both-quarterbacks-impress-in-high-scoring-affair/

San Francisco quarterback accurately delivered 11 of his 13 passes over 10 yards, although two of these were dropped. Kaepernick completed 27 of 32 passes when he was not blitzed

He needs to say something to the coaches. A drastic change needs to happen before he gets a serious injury.

Kap played decent. He made some nice throws and some nice reads. His OLINE especially Pears and Devey and Martin are all NOT NFL Caliber players. Its like an expansion Offensive line out there. I feel bad for Kap getting abused dude has almost no chance to succeed.

70% completion - 330+ yds - QBR or 105

No doubt the line sucked, but despite that Kap had a great game. Maybe some of the stats were padded when the Steelers were in prevent, or at least not as aggressive as early in the game. Kap looks fantastic this year so far, especially considering the OL.

Consider the source. For the elephant man to admit he was decent would be like a normal poster saying he is HOF bound ... lol
Last game, Geep had kap throwing from different launch pads. This game, they go to a box 8 or more, and we call a 7 step drop? C'mon Geep, you know better than that and what happened to the different launch pads?

The OL? ok, 3 rooks from C to RT and no way of counting the whiffs, missed blocs, and so on, but let's just say it was a bunch and horribly inadequate. What happened to playing to our strength, Geep? If the R side can't bloc Pitts or whoever, then run L....we did and that didn't work either . But not moving kap around more and putting any 5 or 7 step drops into the "do not use " lockbox, what happened there? Against a box 8, no qB and kap in particular does well on a deep drop. Deep drops and elite DLs should never occur in the same sentence.

Inattentiveness, esp the boldin drop, the whack on vernon at the ball when he was concentrating on staying in bounds, torrey dropped one, and on it went. From start to finish we just looked bad, from bad game plan to poor play calls, to horrid OL play, to busted DB coverage....man, it was a litany of what not to do.

As for kap, he looked uncertain to me in the first half, tentative maybe. Mid third qtr the score was a wipeout and Pitts backed off....and then kap came alive. He completed a lot of throws across the middle, deep balls, flares....the whole magillicuty. So hopefully he remembers that and is convinced that he CAN do this...complete passes. In the first half , yes he made completions, but he always waited for the receiver to come open, not daring to throw on a break. The comebacker (button hook) in first qtr was beautiful. But he was very reluctant to throw on the break, before a guy came open. He lost a lot of that in 2nd half and it was obvious he had confidence in what he could do. First half, that confidence was lacking. With OL play that bad it is impossible to rate your QB. But the answer lies in calling plays that protect him from an OL that can't pass block. Geep already showed us how he could do that against the Vikes. Why he didn't have multiple launch sites for kap in this game, who knows.

That wasn't a decent performance, that was a really damn good one. IMO given everything else this could've been his best game as a QB.

His throws were accurate, very few of them were off the mark. His decision making was on point as well from first watch. He took the plays that were there and would've had an even better stat line if not for some big drops. Q dropping that 3rd down conversion and getting lucky on the no fumble call was bad. Who knows how that game goes if we keep that drive going. Him dropping the route down the sideline was also tough to watch, looked like he had room to take that in for the TD which may be why he didn't pull it in and was thinking of running with it. Miller literally dropped a sure TD. Just maintain possession man!

No help from the running game...guys getting injured all around him and crap OL play and yeah...definitely his best game.

Hopefully he keeps getting better as guys improve around him...mainly the OL. But no question when he has time to throw the ball he can hurt teams.

I'm not into moral victories. Even Kap saidhimself there are no moral victories. If a 43-18 Beat down is Kap playing Great to you then thats on you.

Some teams protect their quarterbacks better than others.

Here are the quarterbacks that are playing behind the top Pass Blocking Efficiency lines----and their quaterback ratings.

Just for fun I included Kaepernick who happens to play behing the worst, according to PFF, rated pass blocking efffienciency line.

Just for fun!!!!!
