The defense will no longer be the strength, we all knew that. It's going to take a few knock out drafts to reload the D.

Yup. Looks like Baalke needs to find another stud pass rushing OLB.

I wonder where are the mods? Do they hand out timeouts to posters who constantly trolls NT?

no they make them Hall of Famers...

this forum has become a joke for a long time now. You encourage trolls to continue to troll when instead of getting them the f**k out of here, you put them on the same pedestal as members like Marvin and other members who truly contribute.

imagine new 9er fans seeing b******t from trolls...new Aussie fans being trolled by "HOFer's" like Valrod in the Hayne thread.

what the f**k kind of representation of the forum is that? Hurts my head trying to comprehend it.

I just checked out all the 1st half and drives and this is how they stalled.

1st Drive:
3rd & 7 - Boldin drops what would have been a first down conversion on a pass over the middle.

*PIT scores on ensuing drive (8-0)

2nd Drive:
1st & Goal (from 9 yard line) - Holding EPears on a run play
1st & Goal - Boldin blows a blocking assignment on a WR screen (-4 yards)
2nd & Goal - busted RB screen (-4 yards)
3rd & Goal - Boone gives up immediate pressure. Sacked for -7

Dawson with FG made

*PIT scores on ensuing drive (16-3)

3rd Drive:
Run
Run
3rd & 7 - Devey/Martin allow unblocked pressure up the middle. Kap also runs backwards. Sacked for loss of -17.

*PIT scores on ensuing drive (22-3)

4th Drive:
Right after a nice +18 yard catch to TSmith, Hyde/Kap with a lost fumble on a bad handoff.

*PIT scores on ensuing drive (29-3)

5th Drive (2 minute drill with one timeout left)
Never really pushed the ball downfield.
3rd & 5 - Short pass to VD knocked away incomplete. End of half.

We need to go to the Mangini thread and agree with each other over there that the defense failed the team today.

Do you think we can chalk this up to 5 days off vs 10 day... Cross county at 10am?
Hope so.

Hall of Fame just means around long enough and willing to post 100 times a day. It is no indication of the quality of those posts or the person making them.

There are three scales forf rating a quarterback and his play.

Here is where Kaepernick stands on those three scales.

NFL Quaterback Rating--98.1---10th

PFF Quarterback Rating---97.67----6th

ESPN QBR--61.9-----13th

Still a long ways to go, but Kaepernick is off to a good start.

Continued from the draft forum:

Originally posted by Rascal: Originally posted by SundayTicket: It's so early to tell but if we do poorly and I mean poorly this year on offense. I really will be interested to see if we become open to the quarterback market in the draft this next year. I don't think a 1st round lineman is going to solve whats going on. If its not qb round 1 I. Hope it's round 1 WR, round 2 TE I'f he's there. And round 3-7 oline/DE's. this tho only if we don't draft qb rounds 1 or 2 Another format I would like to see if we were drafting top 10. Round 1 qb if he's there. Round 2 WR. Round 3 TE/DE rounds 4-7 olineman/ late gem qb and late gem wr We got to go QB in round 1. Every year we talk about WR cos is sexy and is a nice to have, but quite frankly without a proper QB is just a waste of time drafting a WR this high. Besides, if you have good QB, you could argue perhaps you don't need to mortgage everything for a high 1st round WR.

So by your logic we should draft a QB in the 1st round every 3 years??
Another thing that is so f**king dumb is the 3TE sets when we're 5yrds or closer to the endzone. All that does is take away Kaps athletic ability.

Why not spread them out with 4 or 5 wide, run "pick" passes and if everyone is covered Kap will probably be able to walk into the endzone.

Unfortunately I don't see one the 9ers will have access to in 2016. There are some guys like Harold who can be solid with possibility of upside but no one elite. Probably need to find a vet a like James Harrison that can bridge a year gap.

All I want from this season. Sky's the limit once he puts it together.

In addirtion to looking at Kaepernick and the offensive line, we should also look at what the receiving corps has done in the first two games,

Drop rates is number of drops divided by number of catchable balls.
Catchable balls = receptions + drops.

Kaepernick has thrown passes to 13 different players----so far all of them have been 49ers

Buck...any idea why Miller's TD drop isn't included?

I have no idea.

I got the drops from PFF, and they are known to favor the receiver when considering drops

They show Miller with only 1 catchable ball out of 2 targets.

My internet connection was terrible this week, and I did not see the play, so I cannot even begin to guess.

He caught the ball easily and dropped it when he hit the ground. Ruled incomplete.
