Can this coaching staff please go outside the box! The narrative about this team is making it so easy for D coordinators (the good ones any ways) to easily game plan against our thinning talent this year. We still have the talent to own teams but we need to shake things up and stop thinking this is an isolated experience.

With the coaching plan yesterday I'd really have a hard time believing we'd beat SEA this year simply because we'd probably use the exact same game plan from last year against them, once again.

Seattle is nothing like the Steelers on offense. In fact, nobody in the NFC West is like the Steelers. The closest is going to be Arizona, but even they don't really have as explosive an offense as the Steelers. This defense seems better suited to NFC West teams which is understandable.

i really think this had more to do with the short week than anything else. they can say no excuses etc but that's a quick turnaround preparing 5 days for a team that had 12 and watched you the 1st night on tv and probably just adjusted some installs from the plan they already had in place a few days before...

Wasn't his significant work done with Dennis Gile?

Everything I've seen referencing Warner makes it seem pretty limited.

Yeah. It makes for a better story though to say it was with Warner. If I remember correctly there was some film study done with him but i have a feeling that too may have been limited.
This article makes it sound like both Warner and Gile were equally responsible:

One subject he addressed was how excited he is to see quarterback Colin Kaepernick's development after working with former standout quarterback Kurt Warner and coach Dennis Gile for several weeks in Arizona.

That same article also said that the RZ offense would be more dynamic so....

But with a new offensive coordinator, Geep Chryst taking over for Greg Roman, it's likely that the 49ers will have a different approach when they get inside an opponent's 20-yard line in 2015, and that approach could be even more effective because of the work Kaepernick has done this offseason. If, in working with Warner, Kaepernick has learned through film study how to better read defenses and deliver the ball more efficiently on short patterns, San Francisco could be scoring seven points more often than settling for three.

In addition, Chryst's offense could be more dynamic in the red zone, with a return to more read-option and pistol sets that can give the 49ers more run-throw options.

Not sure if you read what I wrote. Didn't say he didn't work with Warner at all, just that it was limited. I remember Warner himself in an interview saying he wished he could have been down there more. The article you linked to just stated he worked with Warner, but it doesn't address to what extent.

If it was limited then I'd like to see them try it again exclusively as there is too much at stake here. Just thinking about how much that would help Kaepernick and the team is very intriguing.

Yeah, but didn't you guys hear, Kap sucks because he doesn't throw it deep enough. Unlike last year when he sucked because he never threw it short....lol

The one the that hasn't been mentioned is Kaep completed passes to TEN different receivers yesterday.

Is he still a one-read QB? I guess not.

Absolutely, I agree. Whatever and whoever he worked with obviously did good things for him. I just think Warner gets a lot more credit then he deserves.

Let's give the credit to Kaeps initiative to get better
If it all clicks with kap he could will us to a few wins. It sea continues to stutter and az doesn't continue to play well, we could still be in competition for the west by week 8. Big if since we got tough opponents.

And everyone needs to participate.

That's what it'll take to win the division this year. Kap has to be the reason we win, and Hyde needs to stay healthy.

I don't think the defense is as bad as they looked against the Steelers, and I don't think they're as good as they looked against the Vikings. The truth is somewhere in between.

But if Kap plays like a upper-tier QB, we can win a lot of games despite our flaws. It's a QB driven league.

I think that he spent significantly more time with Gile, but there work spent with Warner and Gile was coordinated. The film and conceptual work done with Warner was taken to the field work with Gile.

But, then we should recognize that more time does not necessarily equal more significant.

I do not know if Kaepernick's work with Gile was more significant than his work with Warner; I was not there and Kaepernick has, as far as I know, never said.

Anyway, I am glad that he worked with Gile and Warner in Arizona.

Glad to hear Greg Cosell's unbiased analysis of Kaepernick last game, he stated that Kaepernick played relatively well.
Anyone think Ellingtons injury changed anything for us maybe? Slightly?

Kaepernick has to be the reason but not look like the reason. I see him being much more efficient this year, making his team mates better, relying on and trusting receivers, etc. As the team builds chemistry he will be just the QB not the savior...which is what he's been for a couple of years. It was great to see him run 90+ yards for a TD but the fact that the team always seems to need him to do the extroidinary was not good.

So they have tools this year. I'm impressed with Hyde, T Smith, Boldin and Simpson will be back. Miller is still a good FB, they have plenty of TEs to use and they just need the OL to jell!
