I think the problem for some folks here and me in particular is that when Kap has a bad game, people tend to extrapolate that as his career trajectory. Then they minimize his performance when he plays well and the team wins. He should be criticized today. His play was atrocious. But we also all need to recognize that he has had incredible games as well. If he continues to play poorly throughout the first half of this season, then it might be time to start thinking about what to do with the QB position.

But right now, I say we chalk this up to an incredibly bad day and hope Kap hasn't gone all Schaub or Delhomme.

When was his last incredible game?
Blaine Gabbert is the backup lol, that dude fumbled like 100 times for the Jags and got sacked like 600 times

"I mean, it's not that you can't throw that," Hyde continued. "It's just that you can't make that turnover. There was guys open. The ball just dropped down to the other person."

Hyde just should've shut his mouth....that's the last thing the team needs now is disharmony

and it starts...........

Makes you wonder if others players are thinking the same thing

I wouldn't doubt it most wont speak up just to avoid drama in the locker room but i am sure the unity of this team might change soon if we keep getting smashed on like Today N last weekend. Did you see Anquan Boldin's reaction while he was on the sidelines he looked like a very unhappy camper Today.
Kap needs to shave his beard and cut his hair that's when he was at his best

Very good question. I think last year against the Rams in St.Louis. He started slow but finished terrific. That was almost a year ago.

Huge TD pass to Lloyd before the half changed the entire game. Would have been a 4 TD game but Vernon made sure that didn't happen.

I don't know, but IF the qb loses the confidence of the team, the coaches have to make a change or they risk losing the team, which I think happened to some extent last year. (See two locker rooms).

Just heard a national CBS sports guy put Jay Cutler, RG3 and Kaepernick in the same group of very physically talented young QBs who have fallen far short of expectations with no indication they will every measure up. OUCH!

He had himself a Jay Cutler sort of day.

lol Jay Cutler is 32 f**king years old
Tony Romo must fit in this category too then right? Seeing as Kap has done more in 2 and a half years starting than the 15 or 17 years combined starting that they have? throw in however many years stafford has (with no chants for a replacement after years of being the exact same qb with NO improvement whatsoever on a completely stacked team on both sides of the ball with him being the central reason why they don't go far in the playoffs.

Right?

2 years is enough sample size to know we need to move on in 49er land.
Meanwhile growing pains, horrible seasons. understanding that the offensive line isn't nearly up to par. all of these other things other teams' qb's get thrown out when they struggle mightily. not for kap?

he had a horrible game. he isn't the 1st and he won't be the last to have a horrible game. but if he has one his job is in jeopardy? after having done much more than any of the aforementioned has for their teams with twice the tenure?

The problem is; Kapernick is the same player he was 4 years ago. The problem with that is the league has taken away his running lanes and now he has to try to be a passer. Against weak teams he can do OK but not against a good team. He just isn't that guy.

Agreed. Great game from Kap, but haven't seen him come remotely close to that game. It's been almost a year since he's been "terrific".

Ah yes the one time he threw for 300 yards last year

That TD throw to Boldin though. While the result was obviously positive, it was ill advised. That could have just as easily been a pick. He threw a similar pass to Boldin for a TD in the NFCCG against Seattle that had me scratching my head too.

Careful brother the kap supporters are going to refer to last weeks Pitt game. U know? The one where he only threw 70yds in the first half but since Pittsburgh stopped playing the 2nd half since they were up a million points kap got to get his garbage time stats in against 2nd stringers and soft prevent Lmfao.

Our qb sucks. Can't wait to next years draft when we are drafting 1:1 or 1:2
