oh right because it's not considered manly unless it's beer

All I'm saying is toasting coffee sure as s**t isn't manly. Beer is the only cheers icon I could find here. Way to kill a light-hearted comment, dude.

Morning is coffee, afternoon is tea, evening is ale and late night is either Champagne or scotch. You seem more inclined toward whine.

The drafting of a quarterback early, as some predicted, never happened.

In fact, the 49ers did not draft a quarterback.

There wasn't anything in this draft beating Kap out anyway. We ain't throwing out a 4-2 playoff 3-1 road QB like yesterday's news. Teams wish they can get a QB that can get them to and win playoff games. Ain't but 7 or 8 QBs in the entire league with better playoff resumes

They picked up Thompson as an UDFA and Baalke says they aren't interested in adding another QB at this time. I don't think many people expected to unseat Kaepernick with a rookie but having a decent backup would be a good idea. Guess they like Gabbert.

I think people just figured we might draft a QB because it seemed like Kap was on thin ice last year. He didnt have a great year (nobody really did), he was Harbaugh's guy, and there was rumors about Baalke asking around the league for a trade.

Im hoping this draft proves that the 49ers are going to stick with Kap. I think they would be complete fools to give up on him already.

Agree! He has incredible upside still and if they surround him with all the pieces I expect major improvement. Plus...there were no QBs in the draft that were better than he is, not even Winston and Marriotta. I thought they would pick up a vet and they still might toward TC...although Baalke says not.

If he doesn't improve this year I would expect a major effort to bring in competition next year. Next year's group of QBs don't look much better though unless there are quite a few underclassmen out.

What can I say? I'm a product of my environment. This is the Kap thread, after all...
I just don't see gabbert as a legit backup and bet we go a different way with a journeyman QB via trade or something similar. Right now we got kap...and that's it. IMHO.

Are you saying Kaepernick is incapable of appreciating the finer things in life...like a good cup of coffee or a bold cabernet?

oh completely, smith had way more time. Kap has shown way more potential. and contracts are given based off potential. therefore kap deserves more opportunities

Kap strikes me as a beer drinker. Just saying.
