I don't know who you have been watching but I think your explanation could be the most bizarre rationalization ever used. Use your eyes, he has no control over where his passes go and his speed doesn't translate to what he can or can't do from the pocket. Right now his skill set is almost laughable, he doesn't have a clue where the ball goes once it leaves his hand. The forty niners with Colin as quarterback are pathetic and he has no way to go but down, anybody want to wager let's say $1000 towards the outcome of his season. Care to explain why the niners gave him a huge contract with only 1 year guaranteed, niners were not betting the farm on him.
Nobody has remarked on my assertion that he has a mental issue with his body mechanics, He is a scared child not wanting to be found out. Too late , I can't stand watching even approach the line of scrimmage. So how many pass completions to his receivers this yea.
Kaep is averaging 6.2 yards per pass and that is including run after catch, how many completed passes has he had the just reached the line of scrimmage. Mike
davis had 7 rushes for 6 yards with a long gain of 4, and he is keeping Hayne from the lineup, really, are they serious, apparently not, they are or are becoming the laughing stock of the nfl

Do you really think he "Looked Good"? Or he just didn't suck too bad.....?

He looked good to me, Im no QB whisperer though but I thought he looked good in the pocket when he had time to throw

I'm certainly no expert but I'll say to my untrained eye he looked good before today. Not to say he took the right option every time but it was much better than this. He looked a totally different man out there today though. I don't know if it was his confidence destroyed after those two early picks or he was never on his game at all, but wow, he looked like a snowman in Death Valley out there, melting in the heat.

Sounds legit.

Agreed. He says he's been a 49er fan for 40+ years, but yet he comes here and is more concerned in defending Kaepernick than worrying about the state of the 2015 49ers. Not sure if I believe him.
sighhhhh...on and on eh guys. I have said 3 times that is about personal attacking Kap, I never defended Kap, never, except for that the Oline is making his job very hard, the line we all love so much. I couldn't sleep before the game or after, game on here 4am, I probably care more about the current year team than you two, but I don't go hog wild calling out pro football players by name online far from the threat of retaliation. Man I'd love to have some of these posters here walk up to Kap, VD, even players like Pears and talk the crap typed here..Booowhaaa pee time!

I was at Stanford after the Stick had to close temp after the Preata earthquake when Jeff Fuller was paralyzed and 70k people started to cry or tear up because they couldn't take anymore trouble after the quake, I was on the endzoneline line when Joe hit JT for the winner in Miami, I was in the superdome when the Joe&Jerry show racked up 55 on the Broncos. I started a conga line playing We Are the Niners on a ghetto blaster on my shoulder down the center of Bourbon St. I sat in lowereast sec 33 row 11 for all those years on the 40yrdline. I was there when Joe came back from his back operation, on his farewell Monday nite game before going to the Chiefs, I was there when Kap ripped up the Bears on his debut and on and on...

You better believe I'm not BS you. I was the insane MF Underwear Man who led all of section 33 in cheers and screams, especially in big games. I have an old VHS tapes of John Madden on Monday night pointing me out and sayin "now there's a fan who knows what to do", about 5 second, and there I was wit my Niner underwear on outside ma jeans standing up leading the screamin; fer real. Want more? Me an Banjo man used to like to huff it in the lot before games. I made effigies of Farve and other major players for playoff games and drug them behind my ElCamino all the way from Santa Cruz to The Stick, then we pissed on it and burned them in the lot...Haaaa..damn I miss them days..

So Yes, I care about my Niners..I'm hoping Kap can git his s**t together, but the look in his eyes and feel of his play in both the Steeler and Cards game doesn't bode well, but I'll hope for the best.

If by a miracle Kap, the Oline and front 7D make a comeback and hang a loss on the Peckers I'll be ecstatic. Won't be easy but, I think we all will know how it's going to go in the first 10 minutes..NINERS!!

It occurs to me that one of the excuses people in this forum always seem to make for Kaepernick is that he has a higher ceiling than QB x, y, or z. After today's showing I'm beginning to wonder if that is even true. I think he may have already hit his ceiling and will never be better than he is right now, which means he will be capable of having great games, or great moments in games but he will never put it all together on a consistent enough basis to be considered as anything other than a journeyman. Unfortunately the team is stuck with him for awhile.

I'll be curious to see how long a leash they will have him if he continues to play so poorly. I thought it was pretty telling that when they fell so far behind that they were still running the ball, as if they didn't trust him not to make any more boneheaded throws. But, by the same token being behind by so many points would have been a great opportunity to put Gabbert in and give him some reps, but they chose not to that either, which suggests that they are prepared to sink or swim with Kaepernick this year. I imagine it will be mostly sinking from here on out, but you never can tell. That's why they play the games.

I have always said he had already hit his ceiling in 2012. Ever since the Super Bowl it has been nothing but regression and going downhill.

It really is true. They tried to make him a pocket passer and he failed. The guy is mediocre at best and now they're stuck trying to make it work.

I dont know why everyone is riding Colleen Kaepernick, she's one of the best runningbacks in football
We've got anothr '5 years to develop' qb, especially with this s**tty oline.

Each year a QB is supposed to improve, and he hasn't done anything to improve himself. I mean I read or heard that teammates were critical of Kaep in the offseasons because the guy didn't spend the time studying. Instead he was more interested in working out and looking good.
Two of those picks were on Vernon.

He ran the route so sloppy and on the first pick , didn't fight for the ball at all.

Just did his stupid "leap at nothing ".

I want him off the team.
Alex Smith
2005 - 2-5 - 50.9 comp - 875 yards - 1 TD 11int - 40.8 rating
2006 - 7-9 - 58.1 comp - 2890 - 16 TD 16 int - 74.8 rating
2009 - 5-5 - 60.5 comp - 2350 yards - 18 TD 12 int - 81.5 rating
2010 - 3-7 - 59.6 comp - 2370 yards - 14 TD 10 int - 82.1
2011 - 13-3 - 61.3 comp - 3144 yards - 17 TD 5 int - 90.7 rating
2012 - 6-2 - 70.2 comp - 1737 yards - 13 TD 5 int - 104.1 rating

Colin Kaepernick
2012 - 5-2-1 - 62.4 comp - 1814 yards - 10 TD 3 int - 98.3 rating
2013 - 12-4 - 58.4 comp - 3197 yards - 21 TD 8 int - 91.6 rating
2014 - 8-8 - 60.5 comp - 3369 yards - 19 TD 10 int - 86.4 rating
2015 - 1-2 - 64.8 comp - 567 yards - 2 TD 4 int - 71.1 rating

Alex Smith took over a terrible terrible team. The talent level of that 2004 team was division 2 college like. He had no real WR until Crabtree showed up and no real #2 WR until his final year which was looking like a pro bowl year for smith

Kaepernick took over a team that was Kyle Williams away from a possible Super Bowl. He had 3 established NFL Caliber WRs in Crabtree, Manningham, and Moss. Then year 2 added Boldin, lost Moss (retired). Then year 3 added Johnson, Lloyd. Now boldin and Smith.

As a whole on average
Kaep has had:
Better OL
Better WRs
Better coaching
Better defense
Alex has had:
Better RB (young Gore is slightly better then older Gore and young Hyde)

Even since he's moved to KC, Kaep has had better everything but RB and coaching now

So pretty much
Smith does more with less
Kaep does less with more

Btw I did not think Kaep looked good vs Minnesota, I thought he looked Bad out there. Missed wide open WRs, but he protected the ball and was serviceable, which I said I'll take. I do think he looked good in Pit, but questions remained if it was just a garbage time super star showcase or if he actually improved.

I personally would of benched him this game. Especially after that first pass of the second half int. that looked horrible. One more start like that and I'll be ditching work to lead the we want Gabbert chants at Levi stadium. Or should it be we want Blaine?
I'm surprised Tomsula did not bench Kap.
