He missed an open Torrey Smith going down the seams, and threw to VD for another Mathieu INT, just before the half
You can kinda blame the Oline on the first 2 INT, if you really tried. But the 3rd INT is all on Kaep.

The worst part is that he had a pocket and no one near him to hurry a bad throw On that INt

Kaepernick is not a good quarterback. With a bad oline, head coach over his head, assistants with simple game plans, new, young defensive players, etc. You add add all that together and you get what have been seeing.

Hm, I wouldn't go that far. Colin had a good 2013 season and was instrumental in getting the 49ers to the NFC CG, but things have gone steadily downhill ever since he choked in the final quarter against the Seahawks. IMO, he has only had one truly great game since then and that was the first Rams game last season. He was amazing that day (343 yards passing and 3 TDs), but other than that, his performances haven't been anything special.

and 4th INT......
he shouldnt have thrown the first 2 at ALL. he double clutched on the 2nd and threw it too late and off his back foot.
FOUR interceptions and what, 6 completions? holy f**king s**t.

now you are exagerrating quite a bit.Originally posted by Baldie:Originally posted by Joecool:I'm surprised Tomsula did not bench Kap.
If the discussion doesn't at least come up this week......they clearly aren't looking to salvage the season. Perhaps Baalke said NO and are setting Kaep up to fail which will make shipping him out easier.
Gabbert honestly migke give us teh best chance right now.
kaep played two solid games and a very s**tty one, with a new coaching staff and an o-line which is even worse than that of last year.
if Kaep continues to fail, we will have to discuss a switch to Gabbert. However, as of today, switching to Gabbert would be a classic overreaction though.

The 4th INT is a continuation of the 3rd INT, same underneath pick. Have time to throw, just nonchalant placement of the ball.

Someone asked early on if Kaepernick was injured...and it sure looked like he couldn't get as much on his passes as he usually does. Either he is sticking with changing his passing motion and is in a learning mode, just accepting the bad that comes with learning, or he has another issue.
He looked totally dazed after his first pick six and the absolutely in a fog after the second. He became hesitant to the point of...rookie-ish play after a bad practice.

Something was definitely weird with the first three INTs. It looked to me like he was trying to put touch on them, which clearly didn't work out very well.
Edit: I see that Marvin mentioned in his recap thread that it looked to him like Kap was trying to put touch on at least one of the INTs. Very strange...

As much as I've liked the guy personally and thought he had massive potential, that game shocked the hell out of me. Right now, he's just not good, period. He's gotten worse somehow. Very, very strange. Yes, his first two face plants were throwing off his back foot because of internal pressure, but that pressure shouldn't automatically lead to a pick. He's just not playing well.
And one blowout is one thing, but two in a row is altogether different IMO. I never lose my affection for the team, but at times I lose hope for a successful season. It's too early for that to happen, but it's happening anyway. Too bad. I hope I'm surprised by the rest of the season.

This might be it in a nutshell. He may be accepting the bad as he learns to throw more catchable balls. Learning often make a player overthink and be a tad late.

I have to wonder if he's getting in his own head. Seriously, is he forcing himself to be something he's not? It sure seems that way to me. Those throws.... we never would have seen those noodle throws in 2012. I kept saying to myself "Thanks, Kurt for showing Kap how to throw".

Possibly but those aren't supposed to be touch throws. Those are plays he should be using that rifle arm.Originally posted by dtg_9er:Originally posted by VinculumJuris:Something was definitely weird with the first three INTs. I just wish he was drilling balls in there like last week to Torrey smith. He did have great touch on throws to running backs and on 4th down to vd but when he goes deep just throw without touch please and the result will be little to no ints.
