This might be it in a nutshell. He may be accepting the bad as he learns to throw more catchable balls. Learning often make a player overthink and be a tad late.

That's for the offseason and TC doe. Would think a month of TC would have been enough for that small adjustment.
They were just flat out mistakes. He couldn't throw the fastball because he was throwing off his back foot and moving backward as he threw. He simply shouldn't have attempted those passes because he should have seen the DB's sitting on them.

As much as I've liked the guy personally and thought he had massive potential, that game shocked the hell out of me. Right now, he's just not good, period. He's gotten worse somehow. Very, very strange. Yes, his first two face plants were throwing off his back foot because of internal pressure, but that pressure shouldn't automatically lead to a pick. He's just not playing well.

And one blowout is one thing, but two in a row is altogether different IMO. I never lose my affection for the team, but at times I lose hope for a successful season. It's too early for that to happen, but it's happening anyway. Too bad. I hope I'm surprised by the rest of the season.

I've seen it in other players when they are trying to learn to play differently or in rehab mode. Plunkett looked aweful with the niners after being beaten to a pulp in NE, but after some rehab he looked very good with the Raiders. In his defense, the first blow out was not on him...he played a decent game. The Arizona was pretty much out of hand in the first quarter and most of it was on him.

Think about those first two passes...he took something off them (to increase touch?) but didn't get loft. Very typical of a QB trying to improve touch while not quite there. Three of the interceptions were passes that would have been completed but were too low. I really think if he keeps his mind straight he will come out of this a better QB. Partly because he isn't taking a pounding.
I guess rw should be replaced and Bree's too. Just food for thought. What about tannenhill? Maybe they should get better qb play on those teams.

Possibly but those aren't supposed to be touch throws. Those are plays he should be using that rifle arm.
Exactly! He was throwing off his back foot and didn't get mustard on sideline passes that came out late...bad, bad, bad. But that happens sometimes when a guy is learning and still isn't comfortable. I didn't see his rifle arm the entire game, which is why I wondered if he had a minor injury.

He went to offseason retraining, took on some new concepts, worked on them during TC and is still not there yet. I'm OK with this if it's a learning process and he lost to a very good team. Pitt wasn't on him, but this game was.

Let's not forget Arizona is averaging over 40 points per game. They are real. Also, Big Ben is now out, probably for the year and Carson Palmer will be out soon if he keeps taking a pounding...he tends to break down over the season. Doesn't help the niners but let's not grant the season to those teams...they will have issues. By the middle of the season the niners may find their stride, keep improving, and be in the hunt as Seattle and Arizona have injury issues.

I'm more critical of that. Throwing adjustments should be made and taken care of before you go into the season. Not during the season when INT counts.

First time since Kap took the starting job, I am thinking he can't take the next step in being goob QB..forget about Great.... and I have been a big supporter of this guy...

He looked totally dazed after his first pick six and the absolutely in a fog after the second. He became hesitant to the point of...rookie-ish play after a bad practice.

He was late on all of his throws. He was not seeing open receivers and then trying to force things. Yes, he did go into a fog, and at that point Gabbert should have been the choice. Where CK takes a quick look and then tries to do something with his legs, Gabbert goes back and looks for the quick outlet, not waiting for something down the field to open up. Two different quarterbacks with two different personalities.

Until the OL improves, which is not likely to happen soon, the question will remain.
This dude just can't handle adversity to simple minded thus he makes a great clipboard holder.

Here is to looking forward to 2016 when i pray to god Baalke N Co. get smart N cut the cord with this chump N we actually draft a real signal caller. This experiment is over without any real success time to move on.
What I thought was interesting was the way they attacked our defense. They knew we were soft in the middle and took complete advantage of it. Every ball fitz caught was between the seams and we didn't make any adjustments that I saw.

Hm, I wouldn't go that far. Colin had a good 2013 season and was instrumental in getting the 49ers to the NFC CG, but things have gone steadily downhill ever since he choked in the final quarter against the Seahawks. IMO, he has only had one truly great game since then and that was the first Rams game last season. He was amazing that day (343 yards passing and 3 TDs), but other than that, his performances haven't been anything special.

Yeah, I should say he hasn't done anything since '13.

Yeah, I'm starting to lean towards his ceiling as Randall Cunningham. His star will shine bright, but he's not a franchise QB. I guess the question is whether he'll shine bright again or if the SuperBowl was his peak.
Spot on dtg...instead of his high hard one, kap took something off both of first two INTs, and obviously doesn't have the touch down. After that he totally lost concentration and the last two looked like that. Touch passes are something he has to get down, but equally important is throwing before the break, which he just is incapable of doing, or won't do.

As for outlook, I have thot about it last nite and was trying to see a way forward. I would forget about the QB now, because it is kap or blaine...and neither inspires confidence. Also, good players tend to want to go elsewhere when the Qbs are that inadequate. So my suggestion from here on out is to work on our OL first, try and improve there, and let the QB scenario just play out. We certainly are not bringing in someone just to finish out a pretty ugly season in the making. Working on the OL tho, could have huge impact on whoever we ultimately end up with at Qb. And that means starting Brown, Easton, and whoever else remains from C to RT, for a trial run, looksee.. The play there has been so bad, I'm not quite sure how to characterize sub NFL level play. Maybe these guys are just inexperienced...but maybe, just maybe, they are outright bad. And regardless of what kap or whoever does, it is made one helluva lot harder with schidt for an OL. Maybe put boone on the R side, but then , we end up with neither side able to block for our RB. But OL is where we should start immediately. And in the draft, we better be looking for 2 round 1 OLs, not 1. That would still leave us one shy. "Build your lines first"....Vince Lombardi.

Randall Cunnigham was actually pretty damn accurate i would take a prime version of Cunningham ANY DAY over this tool, i think you meant to say more like Kordell Stewart
Every QB has a bad game. Saw a stat that CK had 159 pass attempts with only one INT. Before halftime, he had 3 INTs in 9 attempts. Pathetic! He's right about one thing, his statements about being 100% at fault after the game ended. Signed T. Smith to big contract and can't get him the ball, neither to Boldin and he looked angry!
