What I thought was interesting was the way they attacked our defense. They knew we were soft in the middle and took complete advantage of it. Every ball fitz caught was between the seams and we didn't make any adjustments that I saw.

They went after Bowman and Wilhoite, clearly he's not the same anymore after that horrible injury. Props though for him trying his best. LB might be a position in the draft that will need to be addressed at some point.

He's right about one thing, his statements about being 100% at fault after the game ended. Signed T. Smith to big contract and can't get him the ball, neither to Boldin and he looked angry!

Boldin looked frustrated, could see it.

I'm more critical of that. Throwing adjustments should be made and taken care of before you go into the season. Not during the season when INT counts.

Doesn't happen that way. Plunkett actually had to go to two new teams in order to regain his fundamental skills. It takes as long as it takes and when the games are real speed it's a whole new ball game. He did well for the first couple of games but then had a flop...learning process can be like that. I won't panic until bad teams start beating him up and taking his ball.

Yes, along with OT, OG, C, TE, QB, DE, OLB, ILB, CB.
Anyone watch SNF last night? The announcers were hanging from Stafford's sack every so often and said something that undermine's a bunch of people's theories that our o-line is the reason Kap sucks.

I forgot who, but he said it's equally important that a QB protect his o-line and not just think it's 100% on the o-line to protect the QB.

How do you protect your O-line? By passing the ball quickly, accurately, and decisively.

Spot on dtg...instead of his high hard one, kap took something off both of first two INTs, and obviously doesn't have the touch down. After that he totally lost concentration and the last two looked like that. Touch passes are something he has to get down, but equally important is throwing before the break, which he just is incapable of doing, or won't do.

As for outlook, I have thot about it last nite and was trying to see a way forward. I would forget about the QB now, because it is kap or blaine...and neither inspires confidence. Also, good players tend to want to go elsewhere when the Qbs are that inadequate. So my suggestion from here on out is to work on our OL first, try and improve there, and let the QB scenario just play out. We certainly are not bringing in someone just to finish out a pretty ugly season in the making. Working on the OL tho, could have huge impact on whoever we ultimately end up with at Qb. And that means starting Brown, Easton, and whoever else remains from C to RT, for a trial run, looksee.. The play there has been so bad, I'm not quite sure how to characterize sub NFL level play. Maybe these guys are just inexperienced...but maybe, just maybe, they are outright bad. And regardless of what kap or whoever does, it is made one helluva lot harder with schidt for an OL. Maybe put boone on the R side, but then , we end up with neither side able to block for our RB. But OL is where we should start immediately. And in the draft, we better be looking for 2 round 1 OLs, not 1. That would still leave us one shy. "Build your lines first"....Vince Lombardi.

Good suggestion! OL will help with all phases of the offense so it's important to get them in sync. Even mediocre players can play better than this group is playing...so I'm assuming they are just not in sync. Martin appears to be hesitant, which puts him into a bad position...gets pushed back because he does't know where/when to anchor. Been there, done that! LOL!

Just like Kaepernick being a step late with the passes, Martin is a step late making his decisions. There are two things that need to happen...getting more comfortable with the new requirements but more importantly getting mad. I was always much better when mad about a bad play or game. They need to step up and meet the challenge head on. Never thought I'd invoke this name, but...I want to see Kaepernick take on a bit of JT O'Sullivans nasty disposition. The guy wasn't a good QB but you'd better do what he says or he might shove the ball where you don't want it.

That said, the playcalling can still help the OL more!
Remind me of Vick albeit with much different body type. Takes league by storm, they adjust and he is stuck for the next 5 years or so trying to adapt to their adjustments on him.
why are we still under the PISTOL FORMATION????

Not a bad comparison except for the character of each!
Don't want to beat up Kaep anymore than already.... In all my years of watching football, I've never seen 2 pic 6's INT in consecutive first series. And another INT to start the 3rd qtr.

The last time a Niner threw two pick-6's was Steve Deberg in 1980.

The last time a pro threw two to start a game was in 1925.

All I can say is I'm stunned and disappointed.

I'm surprised Tomsula did not bench Kap.

If the discussion doesn't at least come up this week......they clearly aren't looking to salvage the season. Perhaps Baalke said NO and are setting Kaep up to fail which will make shipping him out easier.

Gabbert honestly migke give us teh best chance right now.

Starting gabbert is a play for the #1 pick only.

Sometimes a QB just needs a change of scenery before becoming successfull. Young was an example of that.

Young was on a terrible team.

As was Gabbert before he got traded to SF.....wasn't he? Same situation. He looked good in preseason. put him in. Lets see what he's got. Never know, he could be the savior for THIS season. If the FO wants a story, how bout Gabbert renergizes the season and helps the team get to the SB being played in their house. Never know unless you try.

Duh. I was half asleep when I read the post. I thought you were talking about Kaepernick.

Of course. It actually broke the historical record of the fastest time a QB could throw a back-to-back pick 6 in 6 minutes in 25 years.

On the bright side...it's better than Romo throwing two pick sixes with the game in the bag, only to lose due to his mind boggling mental lapse. Now Romo looks much improved...and he's out for the year!

Have to admit...have never seen anything quite like this game...it even beats Romo and Cutler's bad games...I think...

I have to think Kaep will be better for having gone through yesterday's game. If his teammates have any decency they should support him through this. Just has to pick himself up for the sake of himself and his teammates.
