Let it be known that Kap has never lost to AARON Rodgers. 3 or 4 and O if I'm correct! Bad game but the last time this team faced that much criticism, they came out on Monday night and whooped on the Vikings.

I will not be surprised one bit if Kap bounces back and leads this squad to victory on Sunday.

Before yesterday, Carson Palmer never won against the 49ers. The past doesn't matter. Right now the team has big problems on both sides of the ball. Coaches need to coach better, and players need to play better. If that doesn't happen, best believe GB will roll into our house and beat us soundly.

Yeah, people do take their criticisms over the top. But in my opinion, when you go sub-100 yards, 4 INTs, there's simply no excuse for that. Not moving the ball is one thing. Making terrible reads, off-balance throws, and melting down under pressure should not happen. There's no excuse for what took place yesterday. None.

It's all on him. That was a terrible outing, but for some to act like that's the norm and not the exception is ridiculous. What's funny is I don't think I've ever seen any pro kap guys say he's the best guy in the league, usually it's something along the lines of he had the potential to be like a solid top10 possibly top5 type a guy. Yet the anti guys always go over the top and act like he's this sub 50% completion guy that throws more picks than tds. Then they use that b******t one read narrative. It's lazy.

Kap yesterday played maybe the single worst game I've ever seen an NFL QB play.

Not defending his performance yesterday and even he would agree it doesn't deserve defending.

What I have a problem with is people wanting to pull the plug on him after 1 embarrassing performance this season when he is playing under a coaching staff that is clearly lost and acting like the guy hasn't had a lot of great performances when he actually has competent (healthy) players and coaches that know what they're doing around them.

When your QB is shook and struggling, the coaching staff is supposed to dial up plays to get him back into rhythm... not just play chicken ball down 3 scores and tell their opponent and the world they have no faith in him.

Agree 100% with you guys.

It felt as though they'd quit. If Kaepernick can't run the offense they think will win, take him out. But as long as he is in there, they should be calling plays to win the game, not to avoid mistakes. And losing teams at least need to go down swinging, not try to mitigate the damage.

On defense, they played soft in coverage, relying on zone defense. Of course, that scheme relies on meticulous execution and discipline -- not usually the trademarks of a unit with so much youth and newness.

Several times, the 49ers had a linebacker start on Larry Fitzgerald, an All-Pro receiver. That linebacker would then release Fitzgerald to a teammate, and the teammate wasn't there.

Fitzgerald finished with 134 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Once, linebacker NaVorro Bowman threw his hands up in confusion and frustration while chasing down Fitzgerald.

Undoubtedly, millions of 49ers fans were throwing their hands up with Bowman. Not because the 49ers lost, but because they looked so lost while losing.

There was some hope things would be different. If everything broke right, the 49ers could've surprised some people. They could've looked like a team on the ascent that just needed time to jell.

But three weeks in, this season is circling the drain. And this could've been expected. Because dysfunction trickles down.

What a meanie!
The fact that we run a watered down offense and DBs can see that is enough for me. Kap and Geep need to go

Watching an NFL caliber QB function with pressure in his face hurts.

My point or take , tho i haven't made it very well, is that we have a circular firing squad here. The OL has to play good to allow the QB to play good. The Qb has to play good to make the OL play good. Well, we got bupkus from both at most recent outing, and i am curious how one or the other gets better if the other doesn't produce. Hell, even now i am fumbling in trying to make the point. We are at the Gordian knot right now..Two entities that need each other to play well , and neither is doing that. Worse , the final integral problem here is coaching ...which on O and D is unbelievably substandard. To be frank, both O and D are faiiling. As a person who has made a living out of resolving problems, life and death problems in career one and then business problems in career two, all moving parts are broken...and my question is , "how does one, or the 49ers team, proceed from here in a positive and meaningful fashion." Things got so screwed up and went south so fast, that it is really tough to make any kind of changes that would actually right the ship. So the question becomes , when , where, what, who, why and how do we begin? Is it conceivable that an elite HC could come in and undo this and get us restarted?

And that brings me back to the LINES. Build your lines first, and might as well start with the O . It's only 3 games in but everything seems broken. I guess that is a HC job, but I can't see JT alone fixing this. Your thots?
He needs to go back to his mediocrity of throwing lasers every play. Him throwing lame ducks and making the same reads he did before is not going to work (or even be viable as demonstrated). At least with the lasers his likelyhood of interceptions was lower. Run slants across the middle and let him fire it in there to torrey smith and ellington if its not there then check it down to hyde or hayne on the outside. Setup the tight end screens to hayne and hyde. Any pass to the outside should be to celek or davis where we know its likely to be a mismatch with a lb and should be a deeper router along the seam. Him working the sidelines is not going to work and only lead to more picks.Him trying to throw with touch is not going to work and only lead to more picks.

When he was throwing lasers he had confidence. Now that people have criticised him for regressing he needs to start over where he was and just use his physicality to will the ball to receivers.

What a meanie!

Hater. He is spot on though.

Yes, this is all fruit from a poisonous tree. This is the produce from two years of mismanagement. Trickle down NFL economics.

The 49ers ousted a good coach in a seedy manner, then went on a campaign of spin -- "mutual parting of ways" -- instead of being upfront and transparent.

A lack of accountability trickles down.

The 49ers hired a head coach as if this team were a humming machine and any competent plug-in would do. On the contrary, this season was always headed for disaster. The defense lost several key players. The rest of the league is onto the quarterback's weaknesses. The offensive line is a mess. Several draft picks from the last couple years aren't panning out.

The meteor had been making its way to Santa Clara. The 49ers needed a specialist to redirect that thing.

Instead, they hired a guy who'd never even been a coordinator at this level. They selected based on emotion instead of expertise.

Truth is, the task at hand is above coach Jim Tomsula's pay grade. He's warring against powers that were working against him before he signed the contract. And he has no experience to handle this. He was set up to fail.

And now the 49ers need some incredible leadership to guide them through this merciless salvage mission. Just as they needed the same kind of leadership to handle the coaching change. And the rash of arrests. And the issues at Levi Stadium.

After Sunday's blowout, Tomsula said they had a good week of practice, and that the team was prepared. This whole 40-point destruction thing seemed to be a surprise to him.

"We've got to play better defense," Tomsula said when asked his concerns about his defense. "We've got to play better offense, play better special teams. Play better everything."

Poor vision trickles down.
