There are things Kap did that are 100% on him. You DON'T EVER throw off your backfoot like he did the first 2 INT's--- while he DESERVES blame for that, does that mean he was the only one contributing to the problem? Does that mean the OL doing a horrendous job of blocking that put the pressure in his face wasn't a major factor in that?
As terrible of a throw/decision as it was, these same people damning him for the throw would be damning him if he just held the ball and took the sack.
And what of the coaching staff for having a laughable game plan to begin with? Yesterday's game plan and adjustments make Singletary look like the 2nd coming of Belichek.
Unfortunately, Kap might not last long term in SF because he has been put in the WORST position possible- be the QB of a team with a crap OL and a defensive minded HC who is severely underqualifed for the job.
Shame on Baalke and Jed York for creating this.
Someone asked yesterday a simple question: "when was the last time Kaepernick looked Terrific"? The general consensus was last year vs the Rams in St.Louis. That was over 12 games ago and over a year. That's not good.
The other question was: "when was the last time Kaepernick had a game winning touchdown pass"? Answer: He's never had one. He's only had one game winning touchdown drive (last year vs Washington) in 3 1/2 seasons. He has many game winning drives in terms of getting us into field goal range, but there have been quite a few times where we need a TD and he's failed all but one. (most notably, the Super Bowl).
Let's face it. Kaepernick isn't terrible, but he's not a great QB either. Someone said it best, he's an athlete playing the QB position. Almost 4 years and he's not only not improving, but seems to be getting worse. I'm not yet saying get rid of him, but only because decent QB's are hard to come by, not because I think he deserves anymore chances. I think he lost that last last year against the Rams in SF when he misfired to Crabtree at the goal line on what should've been an easy touchdown pass (and game winner since there was less than one minute left in the game) and then found a way to fumble at the 1 on the very next play.
I'm ready to move on from Kap, but only when the time is right. We don't want to replace him with someone worse.
