Alex was 1-13 on third down in that game,at home!it should've never have come down to Williams.
He also threw 2 TD's, 0 INT's and had a huge run on 4th down in the 4th quarter to bring us into scoring range. How did our running game do that day? Alex carried the offense to 17 points against a D that was choking juggernaut O's all postseason
He also performed better and gave his team a better chance to win against the Giants than Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan and Tom Brady - 2 HOFer's and a potential HOFer - did.
And yes, the QB only is responsible for 3rd downs, because Brett Swain and a concussed Kyle Williams were getting separation like crazy. Did you also forget that we were playing in a monsoon?
Are you really that blinded by bias and hate towards a player or really just that clueless to not understand circumstances outside of a QB, and how crippling multiple 4th quarter/OT muffed punts are?
Smith didn't have a better performance than Brady or Rogers, our defense was way better than the Pats and Packers. You watched it, right?
Rodgers missed quite a few throws against the Giants in the playoffs, but the whole Packers offense was out of sync that day. That was partly due to the Giants defense, but the main reason was that the starters for the Packers sat out the final regular season game. Green Bay had a first-round bye, so Rodgers and his offense didn't get any game action for 3 whole weeks prior to the Giants game and they completely lost their rhythm because of it.
