Kap has to play better

Yeah that guy Andrew Luck never developed in college. Surprised he found a job in the NFL.

I totally disagree, he gets the most out of a QBs talent with his philosophy. Kap wasn't ready to be Peyton Manning and his flaws need to be hid in a power run game.

Yeah that guy Alex Smith too. Just a coincidence when Harbaugh showed up, Alex turned his career around.

Luck's passer rating of 65.1 is the lowest of all the NFL's first-string quarterbacks.
Luck's passer rating is lower than that of quarterbacks who have been benched (Brian Hoyer is at 72.7), lower than that of quarterbacks who many observers think should be benched (Josh McCown is at 83.2), lower than quarterbacks who have been roundly criticized for their slow starts (Sam Bradford is at 72.5) and lower than quarterbacks who don't look ready to play yet (Blake Bortles is at 78.3).

Perhaps most amazingly, all of the other quarterbacks in the 2012 draft class are doing better than Luck. Cowboys quarterback Brandon Weeden, a bust with the Browns in the same first round when the Colts drafted Luck, has a passer rating of 102.7. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, drafted in the third round in 2012, is at a solid 94.2. Rams quarterback Nick Foles, a 2012 second-round pick of the Eagles, is at 87.5. Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, another first-round pick in 2012, is at 85.5. Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins, a fourth-round pick in 2012, is at 81.3.

At least Luck doesn't have to worry about his passer rating falling behind the player chosen directly behind him, Robert Griffin III, whose stock has fallen so far that Washington turned him into a scout team safety. There's no chance of that happening to Luck. But there are questions being raised around the NFL about what has happened to this player who entered the NFL looking like the best quarterback prospect of his generation. Luck is off to a terrible start.

^^^^^ Never mind the, uh, facts..... Luck is already a Hall of Famer!
Kaepernick has never thrown more than 10 picks per season. Sunday was easily his worst game of his career. I can't imagine that's his new norm.

No question he cannot allow another game like that but no reason to completely overreact. He still showed 2 very good games vs one terrible one. Let's see which guy is the Kap we should expect.
Kap runs like a fraiddy cat

He's off to a bad start, but he gets the benefit of the doubt because he moves the ball and scores TDs. He's been a turnover machine in his career, but that goes away with experience. Luck is still going to be a dynamite player once he rounds out his game.

There's more questions surrounding Kap because he hasn't shown the ability to consistently move the ball and score points throwing from the pocket. He's obviously very raw in this area, and it takes some creativity to play to his strengths. He can be a successful QB playing to his strengths while improving his pocket game, but it's on him to study and understand what he's seeing on the field. He can't be as late and confused with his throws like he was at AZ.

Turnovers like that one after the other is not the norm with Kap, that's what made it so shocking and disappointing. He has not been turnover prone player in his career. It was just one horrendous game. He'll move past it, just like Luck will move past his mistakes.

Luck is also on a team who is going through what our franchise did last year and that's ownership creating an atmosphere of uncertainty. But his sample size of three games is not the norm of what his career has been which is an elite qb. They started to turn it around in the second half of the Tennessee game

Luck had his best season in Stanford without Harbaugh. The guy was also coached up and developed by his dad who was a former NFL QB his whole life.

How anyone can watch what Harbaugh asked Kap to do in our offense last year or even the year before and feel like it was a good way to develop his skillsets...well then you weren't paying attention or have no idea what gives QBs a higher chance to succeed.

There is a reason Peyton Manning didn't want to sign with us in 2012 even though we clearly gave him the best chance to win another SB and it had nothing to do with possibly having to face his brother in the playoffs.

Yeah my bad, Kap looks so much better this year

Any success by a QB coached by Harbs (such as Gannon or Josh Johnson or Luck or Alex Smith or Kap) was due to someone else. Any failure of a QB under Harb was completely his fault, lol.

I agree. One horrible game completely overshadowing what everybody thought was an improved player the first 2 weeks.

It's too early in the season to make any bold statements. We'll get a better feel for his overall development after 16 games.

Yeah, I'm not really serious here. I'll be shocked if Luck doesn't end up at least rated in the top half if not top 10 QB's as the year progresses. At the same time, I can't believe multiple interceptions in a game is going to be the new normal for Kaepernick either.

Let's be serious, Luck would have developed as a QB playing at Appalachian State. Its not like Harbaugh found some obscure walk-on that he turned into a #1 NFL draft pick. Luck's father was an NFL QB and was tutoring him back from when he was a little kid. Might as well give the credit for Peyton Manning to Phillip Fullmer
