Kap is not nearly as bad as some people on here are making him out to be, nor will he ever be as good as some people on here hope he will be. The reality lies in the 60 mins of tape that we've seen from Kap week in and week out. He's an athletic guy that can wow you with the occasional great play but will never be the consistent pocket passer that is required in the NFL. Steve Young made that transition but it doesn't appear that Kap is making it just yet, and truth be told, this season is really a make or break for him. He absolutely has to be consistent week in week out in order to earn his place on this team.

its his 5th season, how much more time can we spend on him developing? Tired of this alex smith-like b******t and waiting on QBs to become something they never will

frustrating as hell

Not saying I'm happy with his slow development, but we have to try something. He's still the starting QB until somebody better comes along.

WR screens is a good play that he can use to get in rhythm and net some positive yardage. I see the Broncos, Pats, Eagles, Steelers, Chargers use them all the time. All good passing offenses. Never understood why we hardly use them. We prefer to trot out 3 TEs and keep everything condensed, which is a mistake imo.

Yeah that's why we want to draft a qb next year because like u said no one is just gonna magically appear and be a better qb without us going out and finding one

Since 2013, when both QBs were full-time 16 game starters:

Kap: 6 4th quarter comebacks, 6 game-winning drives
Luck: 6 4th quarter comebacks, 6 game-winning drives

- Kap came back from a 17 point deficit in a conference championship game, and won. No turnovers in that game.

- Luck got blown out twice in back-to-back years, committing turnover after turnover.

I get it, Kap was brutal this past week. I've been harshly critical of his performance. But people have to stop using absolutes like Kap can't do this, X player does this. Kap has never done this, X player always does it. It's bogus, lazy commentary.

Which one? You don't mean the one against the Seahawks right? LOL.

What was it? 3 turnovers in the 4th quarter?

Trent Baalke has it, and his phone number too. And I'll take Bradford too.

I'm prepared to wager who'll get one (first).

Of course I knew he meant 2012, that is why I had to bring up the Seahawks game.

Disagree...for now. Only because just last week, the same genius experts were saying Kap was an improved player, showing new found poise in the pocket, going through reads...etc..

Now after just a few days they completely reverse course and say he's done...These dudes flip-flop more than our politicians do lol

Kap will play out the year, there's nobody that's going to replace him. I say wait until all 16 games have been played, then make judgement.

Yeah and the 49ers as a whole, were far superior then the Colts

What about last year?
49ers as a whole were better then the Colts, yet the 49ers didn't make the playoffs
