Well said. I think I'll stay out of this thread for a couple days. Like Young2Rice said earlier "this thread is a disgrace".

I don't doubt that race plays a factor for a small minority of people, but Kaepernick's play on the field is what he is ultimately being judged by and it hasn't been great. When I hear coaches talk about having to simplify an offense for a QB in his 5th season, I wince. I've been a supporter of his for awhile but you keep seeing the same repeated mistakes over and over and at some point it becomes clear that this guy is what he is, he'll always be supremely athletic, with outstanding arm talent and maddeningly inconsistent on a game to game basis. He's yet another Jay Cutler, a guy that can tear teams up when he's on, but also completely self destruct too and you never know which guy you're going to get.
It has been reported multiple times that we have simplified the offense because of Kaep. That isn't even debatable. It's fact. So if the offense is simplified because of Kaep, how is it the OLs fault Kaep can't run the regular offense?

Give Gabbert a shot, see if he's improved. Move on from Kaep

No because all of our former QB's dressed like they respected the position they were in. Kap is the 1st to dress to promote his brand/s. When you are the 1st, people will criticize, if you don't want that criticism then don't buck the trend of what's previously been deemed acceptable.

Yup. If I dressed like Kap at my job I'd get fired. It's called being professional. Something blindfury apparently has never heard of.

In my profession, I have worn slacks and jackets, jeans and button downs and currently wear jeans, Adidas Super Stars and a t-shirt most days. Lots of offices are casual these days.
The players' postgame wardrobe means nothing to me.
I think people calling him a thug has racial undertones.

Yup. People don't ever refer to a white person as a "thug".

Of course it does and that was the point I was trying to make. Not surprising I was attacked. I see a whole bunch of confirmation bias in here.

Never heard anyone call Laimbeer a thug. The use of the word thug is mostly by white fans referring to black players.

Not nearly as often as people use it to describe African American males.
I don't see what is thuggy about the guy anyway.

C: Bill Laimbeer, Detroit Pistons

This "Bad Boy" Piston was the epitome of the 80's Pistons style of play. He probably has the NBA record for most punches thrown at because he dished out flagrant fouls that even the NBA refs couldn't miss.

If the NBA paralled wrestling, he would be the ultimate heel, a reason why his nicknames included "The Prince of Darkness," "Street Thug," and the "Ax Murderer."

The use of the word has evolved recently.

Thugs from the insane Westboro Baptist Church wanted to protest the funeral of a fallen marine… Their goal was to make the day even worse for the heartbroken, grieving family.

Are people really trying to dispute that the word "thug" isn't used almost exclusively to describe unsavoury black people? Kinda sad the lengths people are going to disprove that.
