It has more to do with today's connotation of a thug..and that is typically a black person. I don't agree with it, but that is the connotation. But if you don't agree then I really don't know what more to tell you.
Anyways, lets move on. This discussion isn't going anywhere.
Don't really care much what people think of Kaepernick because most of it is a game old...lose and you're a bum, win and you are wonderful. The link was pretty funny though...Orwell's 1984 for thugs.

I wouldn't blame Kap if he wants the hell out of this clusterf**k ASAP. Not implying he's a quitter cuz he certainly isn't that. He doesn't really elevate his offensive playmakers like Brady or Rodgers but he's undoubtedly been dealt a bad hand by Jedediah Dork and the FO.

Of course it does and that was the point I was trying to make. Not surprising I was attacked. I see a whole bunch of confirmation bias in here.
If you've never heard someone call a white person a thug you need to get out more. This is a two way street not racism.. Anywho, even if one person called him a "thug" that's the smallest minority. Stop trying to paint the rest of us some picture because your painting is wayyyyyyyy off. The vast majority of us think he's just a bad qb. Now you can sit here and take that and spin it in your own way, make your own assumptions etc, all that tells me is you yourself have racial problems going on inside yourself to resort to such a thing so I'm done arguing or even listening to such a person so unfortunately blind fury you will probably be my first and last person who ever reaches my ignore list because it takes alot and you single handily have derailed this thread with complete fairy tails that everyone's sick of.. Anywho I'm done talking about it, it's turned into a racial thread and ppl defending themselves because people are calling them racist with no facts or evidence. It's stupid. Enjoy calling other people racist, but I myself am done partaking in some racist post conversation that has nothing to do with football. Keep attacking people with your posts and claiming everyones racist that's all your posts are good for. If you talking about racist bull sh*t don't bother quoting me or asking me a questiong about it cause I won't reply back.
Yup. I can't f------ believe some Kap fanboys are throwing the race card now for their arguments.
Blind fury especially. Dude is a disgrace to this board.

I agree with this. Adding in 2 INTS and 6 WTF throws.

If Kap was a top ten rated quarterback and had won two Super Bowls there would still be some (probably fewer) people who wouldn't like the way he dressed and some of his lifestyle choices. But until someone can prove to me that Kap's choices of dress and lifestyle cause the problems he is having on the field then as far as I am concerned, it's irrelevant to his production as a quarterback.
My problem with a lot of the discussions that pop up here is not that some people come to this thread to express that they don't like his dress and lifestyle choices - they are entitled to their opinion about that (an opinion I don't agree with). That's a subjective preference thing and can't be argued objectively. And I don't have a problem with people coming to this thread to express that they don't think Kap was/is/will be a good quarterback. That isn't as much a subjective preference thing - people can present arguments that are based on fairly objective evidence for that assessment. (Though I don't think there is a way to make an entirely objective argument either way about Kap's play, there is always bound to be some significant subjective elements to such an assessment.) But I do have a problem when people associate the "doesn't dress like a professional" thing with the "isn't a very good quarterback" thing. I don't see how you can prove that there is a cause and effect relationship between the two. It bothers me that the frequency of "doesn't dress like a professional" postings increase in proportion to the number of losses that the team has because it is evidence that in a significant number of fans minds they do think there is a cause and effect relationship. I just don't buy it.

The 49ers don't have and haven't had the coaching staff in a while to foster the development of a QB. THAT's the issue.

He always had the same bad habits when he was surrounded by a great team and his game was a challenge for defenses. Now defenses have him figured out, the team around him isn't that good, add that to the bad habits and you have a guy who struggles to net a 100 yards passing every other game. He won't sniff the play-offs again until you pair him with a top ranked defense.

You just don't get it...I do't know if you're just being obtuse or not....but I never once called a single poster here racist or that their opinions were shrouded in bigotry. You and some others took what I said and applied it to them. But to get mad over a simple fact of life (people's opinions can be rooted in prejudice then) is something I an't help you with so lets drop it.
You think Kaep is bad, I disagree. Your opinion is not more valid than mine. Moving on.

It's really based on is it a fair assessment to evaluate a QB who has
a) Poor coaching staff
b) Poor running game
c) Poor line
d) Poor offensive scheme
How do you fairly evaluate a QB with all of those things?
The argument is the QB makes all of those areas bad. I disagree since there is 0 data on the above ever being good. Ever. We have data on Kaep. We know he has played at a high level (whether people want to believe it or not) at one point. There is no data on the coaching staff, running game, line, etc.

Blindfury to that i would add that harbaw made a big mistake in drafting kap. Rather than focusing on his dressing habits, someone needs to focus on his QBing skills, which are so substandard for a 5th yr Qb, it is unbelieveable. Can't read a D quickly or accurately, can't throw the most common pass in the NFL, the 3-5 yarder. Continues to be inconsistent in mid and long range passing, can't decide when to run, when to pass...plus his level of immaturity has failed to get better. " I don't care if you bench me or trade me"...that sound like the QB you want QBing your team? Not I. Give me somebody, anybody else. He is playing bad, getting worse, has not improved, and finally, it is time to say, " OK, harbaw made a bad choice." It is time for us to fish or cut bait. The time has come for kap to take his wares elsewhere and start over, in a completely diffferent setting. The fact that Cleveland is talking about Thomas and Mack in a trade makes me wonder if they are thinking of trading for kap...and a #1 or some such. It wouild sure solve some of our major problems. Deletion and addtition...sounds like something that might just be in our wheelhouse.

Don't give a f**k what he looks like. Just get him some folks (Coaches) around him that can help him raise his game. Go Kap!
