those were all 60s and 70s teams you mentioned lol. what does Montana have to do with them?

True lol, but what I was getting at, the league seems to have gotten weaker.

Until the baby GOAT wins 7.

My issue with crowning Brady as the GOAT, or any player in the NFL for that matter, is the "All Time" aspect. The NFL has had so many rule changes throughout the years that it is literally a different game in the way it is coached, played, and officiated.

With that said, Brady is the greatest of his generation of QBs. Joe is the greatest of his generation of QBs. It doesnt have to be a one QB to rule them all situation.

Now we get to see if Jimmy will be the greatest of his generation.

more rules have been put in place, but players aren't not weaker. college teams today would've beat those teams. you're talking about a huge difference from the 70s and even 80s compared to today.

most of those players would look like high school kids compared to today's NFL players.

The fact this this is being debated on a 49ers fan forum... the homerist of the homer sites... should be enough proof that Brady is the GOAT.

It's just a figure of speech, dude.

Dude... no one is saying players are weaker now days..
What we are saying is that qb's along with receivers were blasted back then and were not protected like they are now..
Brady gets to many flags that helps him win games.. tuck rule, video taping opposing team, deflated balls, etc...
but like they say, if you ain't cheating you ain't tryin..

if you had the fortune as some of us to watch games since the 70's thru today, it's easier to compare..

And the game was softer in the 70s and 80s than it was in the 40s. I'm just not sure why we even have these conversations. They don't even qualify as salient points of debate.
Brady is going to his 8th Super Bowl. I mean, that's just ridiculous.

Tags was commissioned by the league create more parity because there were only certain teams/cities that consistently went to the playoffs and competed for a SB, not to mention the influence of FA and coaching staffs in this era are essentially given on average 3 seasons to produce. Staffs were more stable, QB play was better, defenses where much better which is why the league actively wanted to encourage scoring because some thought it was "too boring" when a (24-10 score was a decisive victory). In an era where ONE mistake could doom your team, this era has more fumbles and picks than any other naturally because there's more emphasis on offense. Even the 2nd tier QBs in Montana's era were worlds better than what we consider second tier QBs today - I don't mean just yards as the only measuring stick. Stan Humphries or Chris Chandelier are better than most of the starting QBs in the league. And during that era they were "good/average". 28 teams vs 32, on and on.. just a different time/different era.

For my money the mid-90s was the best era of the NFL. Defense still played to hit guys, but offenses had evolved throughout the league. Best of both worlds.

Seriously. Literally never been done before. He's going to lap the other HOF QBs.
Brady is currently the GOAT until Jimmy G takes his Thrown
