I agree. I think people are reaching with Montana's Super Bowl stats. They're great but I'll take 5-2 (likely 6-2 soon) any day.

What about 5-3?

Montana is a better Super Bowl QB than Brady.

There's a difference between illegally pumping yourself full of drugs until your head swells compared to putting glue on your gloves or deflating a football.

One was against the rules and the other was not. Bonds broke no baseball rules by using a balm and and a sublingual liquid that were later banned.

Roids were arguably against the rules as Fay sent out a memo in 91 stating so there was no testing or punishment in place.

Either way you're comparing deflating a football to felony drug use. If a baseball player got suspended for greasing a ball that won't carry the same public outcry as the roid scandal and rightfully so.

I don't recall anyone being charged or convicted of felony drug use for using the Clear or the Cream. I don't have a problem with players using PEDs to recover from workouts and games.

Do you think Brady is using HGH or any other banned substances?

That's because the Feds go after the suppliers not the users in that scenario. Bonds almost went down for possibly lying about it but that just ended up being a waste of $.

We're not going to convince each other whether he was innocent or guilty I won't waste my time on that.

Silliest argument ever. Not making the playoffs or getting knocked out of the playoffs before the SB is even worse than losing a SB. Going to a SB >>>>> not going to a SB. Brady is the GOAT and it isn't even close anymore. End of the day winning SB's is the only number that matters.

lulz u guys will never know. the sting of losing the championship is greater than losing any other game. yah brady got his albeit with the help of his kicker, tuck rule, stoopid play calling by the seacucks, choke job by the falcons, mariota and bottles and oh yeah the "gates". give him back tyree and still...

The winning Super Bowls argument is equally silly. By that standard Dilfer and Ripien were better than Marino and comparable with Young. Actually most of the arguments on this are silly. The greatest qb in the world won't get recognised if he plays for the Browns. It is a mix of coaching, the rest of the team, good luck with injuries and in general pure good luck.

Coincidentally I just rewatched Super Bowl 1. Mystery to me how anyone could compare Starr or Dawson with, for example, Montana or Brady. There is just no realistic basis for comparison.

Years played matters though and that's where today's softer rules benefits Tom. I do think there should be pressure on Tom to win this one to be GOAT. If he gets to 6 wins now he's clearly showing his dominance. Just 5 to 4 with a much longer career and I think you can still argue for Joe.

Agree.....I respect the heck out of Brady and the front office of the Pats for remaining so competitive for years in a salary cap era, but I've always said......if it's the SB, and I could pick any QB for my team, I'm always going to pick Joe Montana.

They reached hard to go after Bonds, the whole BALCO investigation started because Jeff Novitsky, a frustrated failed athlete, thought he was an ***hole and wanted to see him go down.
"That Bonds. He's a great athlete," Internal Revenue Service criminal investigator Jeff Novitzky told California Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement agent Iran White three or four years ago, according to White's account, as reported in a remarkable May 2004 Playboy article. "You think he's on steroids?" When White reckoned that Bonds was, Novitzky reportedly answered: "He's such an a*****e to the press... I'd sure like to prove it."

If they had any reason to charge Bonds with felony drug use they would have. Instead they charged him with a dozen other things they couldn't prove.

I don't see it as an issue as simple as innocent or guilty. Dude used substances (clear and Cream) not identified as illegal to recover from workouts faster. I don't see that as being worse than tampering with equipment or spying on other teams.

It is a silly argument to say that Montana performed better int he Super Bowl than Brady? I am not making any argument about making the playoffs or losing in the playoffs, I am just comparing the two as SB performers.
