"Guys we have to do it again because of Montana " lol
Just take pleasure that Brady grew up a huge 49ers/Montana fan and now is better than his idol
Brady is not Italian. Therefore, Montana > Brady. End of thread.
Brady cant run like joe, read progressions like joe, be clutch like joe throw the sweet ball like joe, but he can age better.

Considering he has played more years in the league with salary cap and constantly changing teams you better believe it. That doesn't mean he's playing with better teams.

Joe had 2 seasons where his defense wasn't top 10 in both points and yards allowed....one of those years was the strike season and the other the defense was #2 in points allowed and #14 in yards allowed...not exactly terrible.

Brady had 10 seasons with his defense not top 10 in both categories. Doesn't mean his defenses were awful as some of those seasons they were right on the edge but let's not act like Brady is surrounded by all pros and pro bowlers.

How many of those guys were pro bowlers/all pros before playing with Brady? Moss? Cooks? Who else?

Give credit where it's do. It doesn't somehow diminish what Joe was able to accomplish here. His play in the SB will probably never be matched(unless its by Jimmy GQ)

Get real...

Joe didn't have a gun for an arm and Brady can make every throw Joe can't...he just can't make those throws on the run but you already covered that with the "he can't run like Joe"

Joe never had to read defenses as complex as they are today and Brady is terrific at it. Clutch factor...have you watched Brady at all? More game winning drives and 4th quarter come backs than Joe in the regular season and in the playoffs...including the biggest come back in SB history at age 39.

Show some respect.

lol people just making crap up and passing it off as fact. this is why so many other fans think 49er fans have no clue about football.
Tom Brady is about to move into second place for all time losingest Super Bowl QB.
Quarterbacks Joe Montana Faced in a SuperBowl:
Kenny Anderson: 1981 MVP, All-Pro 4x Pro Bowler
Final Score - 26-21

Dan Marino: HOFer. One of the Best of All Time at the position. Record holder for most TDs in season (1984). 9x Pro Bowler. 1984 MVP.
Final Score - 38-16

John Elway: 2x SB Winner. 1987 MVP. All Pro. 9 Pro Bowls.
Final Score 55-10

Boomer Esaison: 1988 MVP, 4x Pro Bowler,
Final Score 20-16

Average Score Differential: 19 points.

Tom Brady SB Opposing QBs
Kurt Warner: HOF, Super Bowl Winner, MVP
Final Score - 20-17

Jake Delhomme: 1x Pro Bowl
Final Score - 32-29

Donovan McNabb: 6x Pro Bowls
Final Score - 24-21

Russell Wilson, SB Winner
Final Score - 28-24

Matt Ryan: MVP
Final Score - 34-28

Average Score Differential: 3.8 (wins only)

Interesting. Every single opponent Montana faced won the MVP the year they met in the Super Bowl, with the exception of Elway, winning it two years prior.
Two of which, are considered some of the greatest to ever play the position.

Brady faced only one HOFer and one borderline future HOF in Matt Ryan. Who, largely outplayed him most of last year and barely won by an average of 3.8 points to Montana's 19 average margins.

I think it's fair to say Montana faced higher quality QBs than Brady without a doubt and performed better overall in each Super Bowl with the margin victory reflecting that point.

Does that really mean much? What say you?

Your list very cleary has elway as 87 mvp and they played in the sb after ths 89 season. So he didnt play opposite a mvp qb from that year in every sb. Also matt ryan will be in hof as will russ wilson, like it or not those guys are almost locks. Plus the niners d shutting down all these great qb kinda shows u montana had more help than many are willing to acknowledge.
Remember the hype about Manning being the best of all-time before the Colts-Saints Super Bowl? What happened after that game? Take away a bonehead play by the Seahawks and choke by the Falcons Brady would have 4 SB losses. You could add in the Suck-Rule and they have one less SB on the resume. Don't get me wrong Brady is great but he's had his fair share of luck and a coach that does more than bend the rules. I'm rooting for the Eagles to channel Rocky Balboa and get the win.
