What a dumb thread. You don't need to tear down Brady to be a Montana fan. Both can be great.

He sucks doe!!!

Hands of stone. Dropped easiest catch which would have went for a TD. Montana catches that lol

Montana would of thrown and caught it. And I'm pretty sure he would of blocked down field for himself.

When there rules make it easier for the skilled thrower to use his ability down after down...you bet on the most skilled throwers.

FEW humans on this planet have ever delivered the ball as quickly with as much accuracy as Joe Montana.

Are you saying you would bet AGAINST Joe Montana with todays passing rules?

The Patriots have been to 8 SB's and every single one of them was decided on the final drive. No one wins every game in that scenario.

Montana played in a league were the defense could dominate equally and completely negate some of the best qb's ever. In today's football Nick Foles just dropped 41 on Bill. I'm not saying Joe couldn't win or play in today's league just cool it on he'd win 10 titles. No, he wouldn't. He'd be in nail biters like every other qb.

I remembered that play when it almost came up again in the Super Bowl.

Too bad they couldn't complete it when it matters lol
THIS. go to youtube and pull up the game against the eagles when they had reggie white, jerome brown, simmons, and seth. they were beating Joe's a$$ so bad, I actually screamed at the tv for seifert to bench Joe. Joe just faced what was coming and threw 4 td's in the fourth quarter to win the game. how do you think Tom would have fared!?
Brady does play in an era made to benefit him. Having said that, imo he's the best QB we have ever seen play. He has set the bar that every other QB strives to replicate. Brady thew for 500+ yards, 3td's, and 0ints. Absolutely dominant performance. His D let him down.

I like Joe's odds over anyone else...

He made some great throws, especially without Cooks in the game. He essentially was throwing to just Gronkowski and Amendola so you have to give him props for that. Even to the very end you still expected him to connect on a throw, especially that Hail Mary in the last few seconds. I think Philly just outcoached the Patriots. Pedersen kept the pedal to the metal and kept coming after New England without having any major errors or miscues that the Patriots typically feed off of. That coaching staff was the MVP although Foles played really well too.

Too bad Walsh / Montana era didn't last as long as the BB / TB era... give Walsh and Montana 3 more chances / Super Bowls together......

New England could not stop Philly on 3rd and 4th down (Philly wasn 10 for 16 on 3rd down and 2 for 2 on 4th). Truth be told, both defenses honestly weren't that great.

The game came down to whichever team made a defensive play, and it was Philly with the fumble.

This is the key. If Joe and Walsh had two decades together, the 49ers may have 8 rings. Too bad both Walsh's and Montana's health didn't allow them to play a lot longer.
