Brady is like Kobe of the nfl
While
Montana is like Jordan of the nfl
After tonight

Brady should still never be considered as a GOAT since he has Super Bowl losses while Montana won all his!

Plus Montana doesn't have a scandal attached to his legacy.
We can compare again?

What a dumb thread. You don't need to tear down Brady to be a Montana fan. Both can be great.

3 losses separates the two

More sb victories and far more conference championships is worse
Elway is probably a fairer comparison to Brady than Joe. Or Jim Kelly.

Lol bruh

Patriots had the most offensive yards ever for a team that lost a game in the NFL. Brady played more than good enough to win another one. Montana's defense screwed him in the playoffs a few times, too. Just because it wasn't the Super Bowl doesn't mean much to me. They are both amazing QBs, and Brady is gonna be considered the best ever until someone wins 6. It's just the way it is. It's simply impossible to compare eras straight up.

The question is....who would you choose if you are down by 6 with two minutes remaining , at your own 5 yds line... Brady or Montana ?
To me there is no choice...#16 all the way.
Brady is the most accomplished QB of all time. Period. Does that make him the best? I would argue no, others would say yes and I won't fault anyone for that.

However, what has always remained true to me is that while others will pass Joe in statistics and accomplishments, with my life on the line, there is no QB better than Joe. If you can choose one QB to start a SB for you it is Joe. Now we know that Brady has reached that ultimate game more than anyone in history and that is a massive accomplishment but that doesn't mean that he's the one I'd start once we've reached that point.
Saw a bit of some doc about Belichick and Parcells and they had a clip from a Championship game between the Giants and Niners. Some defensive lineman broke through for the Giants and just leveled Montana, a hit that would have been illegal today but wasn't then. Joe looked to be down for the count and then they cut away. Brady never would have survived under those rules. All props to Brady for what he has accomplished but I'd still take Joe if I needed to win one game. I'm not a big fan of the "greatest ever" debate. I think Brady has been the best QB of his generation, Joe was the best QB of his generation, Unitas was the best QB of his generation and, depending who you talk to either Sammy Baugh or Otto Graham were the best QBs of their generation. Each had a skill set that was suited to the time they played. Some of those skills would have transferred to different eras some of them wouldn't. That being said, I'm glad Brady didn't get his sixth tonight. Kudos to Foles but if Wentz had been playing I suspect it might have been a real beat down.
