Or the fact he never lost one either...

Or the fact that Joe won 4 and was screwed out of another by the refs in the redslkins championship game while brady was gifted 1 by the refs with "the Tuck Rule" BS and gifted another by getting to play a team with mentally challenge coaches who call a pass play on 2nd and 1 with beast mode in the backfield and didn't even think to call play action and fake it to him let alone hand him the damn ball.
This whole silly thread has made me nostalgic.

Oh ok I see where you get your opinions about brady: skip bayless.

Don't listen to this guy. the analysis is myopic. It's just silly. the first three quarters brady suked.

It's just one game. You have to think about the whole career. watch a few games.

The other announcer is making better points

Aside from the spectacular SB performances, my favorite Joe moment/game was the 1989 philly game. A comeback victory vs the "it" team and one of the greatest/nastiest defense in their house. He was brutalized and still completed 70% of his pass and threw for over 400 yards. This was against a defense that allowed less than 50% completion %. I was mesmerized as a 10 year old and I continue to be astonished by this performance as I have it on my CPU. I rematched it just a month or so ago.

Here's a question. You think the Niners would have won it all if Montana was the QB in the 92 playoffs ahead of Young?

Also we had a a bit a debate of which of Young's teams from 91-98 would beat Brady's teams from 01-now.

So. You think Montana's 87 and 90 49ers who were the favorites to win the SB but lost before getting there could beat Brady's 07 and 2011 Pats who lost in the super bowl to the inferior giants?

which rules are they playing by? And do the older teams get to indulge the same "training regimes" as the newer players?

lots of unspoken variables need to be clarified.

We'll play by todays rules.
skys the limit then. jerry rice brent jones getting whistles if defenders brush them 10 yards downfield? omg. jerry 7 lbs heavier and .2 seconds faster. gosh i cant even think about that.
One more tally for Montana in my opinion . . . I believe the yearly conference playoff meat grinder of the Giants, Bears & Skins of the 80's & 90's was a tougher road to hoe than the Colts, Steelers and Ravens from 2000 to current. The NFC of the Montana era was a true power conference and it wasn't really close.

You could make the same argument for Brady. David Tyree made the luckiest catch in HISTORY. 4 years later, Eli Manning threw a PERFECT pass to Mario Manningham on the last drive of the game. Brady was SUPER CLOSE to having 6 rings.

I agree with this. I just believe that cap teams are gonna have a real hard time dealing with pre cap era teams. Cap started in 1993, but the real effects really weren't felt until 1996ish. I pick 1996, because you basically had two second year team Car & Jax make conference title games in their second year of existence. I do believe 1996-98 niners would be good games vs Toms Pats, however id take us. Within those 3 teams you had 2 dominate defenses (96 & 97) and our last championship quality offense (1998).
Joe is so overrated.

Jamarcus Russell is better than Joe, but He didn't have the luxury of playing for Walsh.

Imagine the Joe Montana led 49ers playing in today's AFC East. Hell, Joe on the KC Cheifs would have had 8 super bowl wins in that pathetic division.

The patriots have played in a division that has been the most god awful division for what, 12 years?
Why the hell doesn't Brady have 10 super bowl appearances? They have had a decade long cake walk to the playoffs! Brady is a china doll. He would have gotten broken in half in the 80's. Joe is hands down the GOAT.
