Silly. We all love Montana - dude, Brady loves Montana lol Brady is amazing. They didn't lose that game because of him. Their defense was s**t.

Brady played very meh in his first Super Bowl appearance but people use it in GOAT conversations why? Because he drove down the field for the win when it mattered.
Last night Brady played good the whole game but then when it came time to pull off the win against one of the worst defenses he's played in the Super Bowl? He coughed the ball up.
So which is it? Is it about stats or is it about delivering in the moment? Brady fans can't have it both ways.
Anyway, I agree Brady fans can't have it both ways. But why are Montana apologists able to have it both ways?
Everyone cites his impeccable Super Bowl record, but glosses over his losses earlier in the playoffs. Like, for example, three straight one-and-dones, a three-year stretch where he threw 0 TD and 4 INT. Why does Montana get credit for being perfect in the SB, but everyone glosses over him having complete duds in the playoffs? "Those games don't count, they didn't happen in the SUPER BOWL" is the most mind-numbingly stupid excuse I've ever heard in my life, and yet people reflexively regurgitate that awful argument every time this discussion comes up.
Imagine that, having terrible performances prevents a player from reaching the Super Bowl in the first place, who would've thought?!
He held onto that ball for far too long with a 2nd and 2 situation and he failed to secure the ball when the sack was coming in his face. Maybe he thought he would get tuck rule type bailout again.

I'm not bashing Brady......but to the bolded, Joe put up 55 points on what was the number 1 defense for points and number 3 defense for yards. People just think that Denver defense was s**t. It was not.
I'm aware of Joe's accomplishments but it's easier to score points when your defense keeps getting you the ball and can actually stop the other team.
The patriots did not punt once in that game and their defense only stopped the Eagles from scoring twice...once with a lucky interception that Jeffrey pretty much handed to the DB which still required them to march 90 yards for a score.
Not to mention the 89 team was one of the best teams to ever play in the NFL in terms of talent.
If the Pats D stops the Eagles once in the 2nd half Tom Brady wins #6.

Nope, Brady still a cheater, his wins are *tarnished* because of that, his wins don't equal Joe Cool's.Originally posted by susweel:Originally posted by Giedi:Originally posted by susweel:+ Show all quotes
