Romo did this against the Broncos in 2013.

Yep. Never needed to cheat.

History only remembers rings.
Unless you're a 49ers fans, then you remember the Brady losses. But you at the same time forget the Montana losses -- those ones don't count because of selective memory.

I'll admit I am a 49er fan. That is why I post on this site. What brings you here other than trashing Montana?
Sorry, but there's nothing honorable or impressive about being impartial. I'll take being objective over being an apologist every day of the week.

Remind me again...did Joe win the SB the year he didn't go to the SB?

Guess Joe Flacco is better than Tom Brady because he's got 0 losses in the SB as well right?

If a QB doesn't make it to the SB he lost at some point in the playoffs or didn't make the playoffs. It's not a better accomplishment than getting to the SB and losing. It's worse...

Nobody likes losing in the SB but if you don't get to the SB you can't win it. Simple as that.

8 trips with 3 losses is still better than 4 trips with 0 losses.

this lol

apparently it's impossible to differentiate between trashing and being objective

He was a little off on the qualifier.

As you just said, if you were a 49er fan you would remember the Brady losses and favor Montana. I am a 49er fan.
I also agree that being an impartial sports fan is not impressive, the word fan is short for fanatic. I am partial to the 49ers.
I don't see why it's so contentious to back Montana, there's 1 SB between them so it's hardly clear cut.

Brady played longer, won an extra SB.

Exactly. 5 > 4

And 0 < 3

Ya obviously when people think of guys like Magic, Kareem, Bird, Peyton, Gretzky, they talk about their finals loses. Not how many they won, or how great they were, but how many they lost.

I don't think they ever cheated the way Tom did, though.

Rodgers admitted to over inflating his balls, Jerry Rice admitted to using stickum..are they all cheaters as well?

Except those guys admitted it. Brady just continues to stick with his lie. Then breaking his phone to cover his tracks. That's my main issue with him and the Pats

When I pointed out that Brady coughed up the ball with a chance to win the game someone responded that I was trashing Brady and needed to show respect. The trashing accusation has been thrown out there by both the Montana supporters and the Brady supporters.
It is all a matter of opinion...4-0 is pretty special as is 5-3.

Yes they are, sad as it is for me to say re Rice.

In terms of the debate at hand, until someone gives the definitive list / criteria this debate is nothing more than a pissing contest. If say, the GOAT is determined by SB victories, then Brady is the GOAT. If the GOAT is to be determined by win percentage in the SB, then it is not Brady, etc. etc.

I will say this though, had the Pats followed the 49ers' 1992 decision making process, they may have traded Brady before this year even began. Had they, based on his very short resume, is there much doubt JG would have had the Pats in the SB? On the same note, would it be a stretch to say if the 49ers had done what the Pats did this year, and kept their aging QB, they too wold have made the SB at least once in Montana's final two years? That would have Montana at (likely) 5 SB rings, since the Chargers didn't even show up that year, and Brady would have 5, though more years in the league. Does this make Montana the GOAT? Again, I just don't know one way or the other until one clarifies what makes someone the GOAT.

I will say this though, with one drive to go, I would take Montana over Brady.

Im just waiting for the report about brady being on the juice
Would you rather have an A+ for four years, or an A- for eight years? That's what we are arguing.
