No, Montana played weak opponents in the SB and left his biggest choke jobs in the divisional and championship games. Remember that time when Brady only led his team to 3 points in the divisional round? Oh wait...that was Joe against the Giants in 86'. Back then the NFC had the best teams by far and Montana lost plenty of games to NFC rivals.

LOL Remember when you had game films of the Rams practices and Marshall Faulk thought you guys were magicians since the defense knew all the offensive plays.

And still barely pulled out the win lol

Montana won his 4 by a combined 76.

against (much easier opponents). Like I said, Montana struggled against NFC teams like the Giants and Redskins. The super bowl back then was a joke. BTW, Brady's worse loss of his playoff career was by 15 points, Montana was by 46.

I'm confused . If they were in the SB, then they had to have gone through the NFC first, correct?

The only person I've heard talk about TB' 4th Quarter Fumble (as I saw it), was Chris Carter re: "First Things First"

During the 4th Quarter of the game -- on the strip-fumble -- Brady, IMO, tried to influence the Refs
decision, by feigning an open hand move gesture, to suggest he was in the act of throwing the ball.

I noticed it as the play unfolded, but was too much in the moment, that the Eagles might win the game.
So I didn't start typing about it in the Game Day Thread … knowing most posters wouldn't see it, and
I'd probably get no reply.

Look clearly again at the the footage, and you'll notice: that
  • the ball is clearly out of his hand …
  • he has started to fall away from it, and toward the turf …
  • before his pretends to have been in the act of a pass.

I guess one has to do, what one feels that need to do … but it's things like that which bugs me -- and probably others -- about one Tom Brady:

Want me to explain it to you? Montana played 10 years for the 49ers and reached the super bowl 4 times. The remaining years he either didn't make the playoffs or lost to an NFC contender (Giants, Redskins, Vikings). I am merely pointing out that Montana's toughest opponents were in the NFC, not in the super bowl.

goooood one

ha
Remember that time when the Patriots played in a good division?

Dolphins have always been tough. Bills and Jets are scary every year.

At least the LA Rams were good way back when.

No chance, the salary cap has watered down the league with mediocrity being masqueraded as parity. The Eagles were a last place team last year and they beat the Pats with a backup qb who started only three regular season games.

Better up your game to match your name.

Not during our run in the 90s. Cowboys & Packers might as well been our division rivals back then

No need to explain anything other than the fact you completely contradicted yourself
Lets do this... had we traded Young to KC for Derek Thomas, we would have NOT lost to Dallas (2x)... Would have beaten Buffalo 2x... and San Diego.. Would have beaten GBay at home (NFCCG)... then beat that Denver team that beat Green Bay...

... and how many rings would that be for Joe and the team???

Yep. Never needed to cheat.

History only remembers rings.

History only remembers wins.

Exactly. 5 > 4

And 0 < 3

Ya obviously when people think of guys like Magic, Kareem, Bird, Peyton, Gretzky, they talk about their finals loses. Not how many they won, or how great they were, but how many they lost.

I don't think they ever cheated the way Tom did, though.

OUCH!

So. So. True. Makes me want to cry. Steve Young - the most overrated Qb of all time.

Or better yet...let's not trade Haley and win 2 more rings with Steve.
