5 > 4. Winning 5 Super Bowls is better than winning 4. Period.

Getting to 8 > getting to 4. Yes getting to a Super Bowl is hard. Yes it counts getting there too. Why is the guy who can't get to 8 better than the guy who did get to 8? It makes no sense at all. It's not even logical.

Lebron has been to finals 8 times. His Airness 6

What part of Brady WON 5 don't you understand? Yes Lebron getting to 8 is super impressive although he is criticized on the WZ a lot because he is hated here. Wilt won just 1 time. Barkley never won. Ewing never won. Getting to 8 and winning 3 is great. It's hardly bad. Plus how many of those were really his fault? Early in his career when they played the Spurs his young Cleveland team was not the best team. Not by a long shot. Playing with 2 out of the big 3 hurt in another Championship is not his fault. Getting beat by a unheard of Big 4 is not his fault. Wow he lost to the starting roster for the Olympic team. What a choke. There are easily 3 of them I can think of right of the top of my head that absolutely are NOT his fault. It's so overrated that Lebron chokes when you really think of the circumstances here. He has been in some unfortunate situations when reaching the finals sometimes. Some factors beyond his control.

Wtf? What are you trying to argue? Winning 5 is better than 4? Well doh but that's not what we're arguing here. We're stating our opinion on who the greatest QB of all time is and there's no denying it's Montana.

It's not Montana. Brady has WON 5. Plus he is throwing for over 500 yards in the Super Bowl at 40 years old. Montana never did that. He didn't even play at 40. If he did he would not throw for over 500 yards in the Super Bowl at that age. Brady is the best by far. Montana is at best the 2nd best. He is probably somewhere in the top 5. But he has shifted down now. At least Brady for sure has passed him up now.

By almost any measure, Brady gets the nod. It takes a lot of reaching to argue otherwise. Only thing that has some validity to me is the cheating. Time will tell on that one.

Nick Foles threw for 370, the game has changed, dbs aren't allowed to cover, qbs are not allowed to be touched, the league is watered down by the Mediocrity Cap...

Brady choked the game away.

"If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying" - Joe Montana
I like Tom Brady. I really do. I think he is a good good quarterback. Before the knee, he was very good. I like that guy

I hate threads like this that make me sound like I don't like him because he doesn't possess some of the elite QB skills that are possessed by historic, generational QBs -- mobility, improvisation, hyper fast pattern recognition and decision making, fluid and varied ball delivery, catchability, demeanor.

Brady is elite in some, good in others. Joe and guys like Staubach and Rogers are elite in many.

But, Brady did introduce another category into the conversation which is not a game skill category per se -- longevity. Obviously, we have to consider how would todays rules impact longevity. But even still his accomplishments are very inmpressive. He continues to perform at a high level at an age where Sonny Jurgenson looked like he was giving birth to baby whales. So hats off to him, and don't be afraid to be called a homer for worshipping Joe -- he really was generational.

"Getting there"

Jim Kelly / Buffalo Bills says hi to all of Brady's lovers whose bellies are warm and full

Don't be ridiculous. Brady won more than Joe. It's not just a participation trophy.

What is this idiocy? Somehow NOT getting to the SB is better than going and losing? You lost either way. But if you don't get there then you can't win...

Brady choked the game away.

Jeff Hostetler by comparison threw for 222.

Bill Russell won 11 championships to Jordan's 6.
f**k it.....I'm turning this into a Joe appreciation thread.

Joe's post season totals for the 1988 and 1989 title teams are ridiculous. It encompassed 6 games. Of those 6 games he faced 4 separate teams that either had the number 1 defense based on points or the number 1 defense based on yards. His totals are the following:

ATT: 121
COM: 173
%: 70.7
YDS: 1623
TDS: 19
INT: 1
RATE: 135.2

What's the exchange rate for those numbers in today's game? Just ridiculous.

Not a realistic comparison...Russell played in the 50's and 60's and Jordan in the 80's and 90's....

Only 6 years separates Joe and Brady

So the game in 2000 was the same as 94? No big changes happened?

Of course he only argued 5 is better than 4. If he wants to add context to his argument than he can. But clearly 11 is better than 6.

But ok is Yogi Berra 10 Times the player Ted Williams was? They overlapped.

Because Williams had superior statistics you would have to liken him to Brady instead of Montana.
