Sure pre cap era allowed some really strong teams to exist for extended periods of time but like I said it was a great boost to teams like the 49ers who were able to draft well and bring in talent and then keep that talent.

The reason I'm so impressed by what the Pats and Brady have been able to do is because despite their teams changing over the years so much they've kept winning. It's something no other team was able to accomplish in the same era.

I totally get it. What I'm saying is, the although the 49ers could keep talent, so could the Bears, Redskins, Giants, etc. Tougher teams, better coaches, definitely tougher defenses, etc.

I think Belichek, much like Walsh, knew the importance of the QB, and where to spend in players to keep a team on top. I don't think other teams have figured that out OR can make up for that in the Xs and Os to topple NE.

The Giants and Eagles both figured out how to beat the Patriots without elite QB's. The Patriots can be beat; they're not an unstoppable machine like the Niners were when they got to the Super Bowl during their run.

You can get the information without pulling it from the phone.

If we're being non biased...if you were Tom Brady would you hand your phone over to those guys? Remember what happened to Richie Incognito?

Hell he didn't hand his phone over and they still f*cked him by letting non deflategate stuff leak

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/tom-brady-in-email-ive-got-another-7-8-years-peyton-manning-has-2/

I really don't understand how 49er fans can support what happened to Brady and the Pats by the NFL and Goodell. Do you guys not recall the Lance Briggs tampering situation? The fact is Goodell picks and chooses when and how he punishes teams. We didn't even sign Briggs and got slammed for it with fines, loss of draft capital.

Meanwhile his old employer tampers with Revis to the point where they actually sign him in free agency right after and they get a tiny fine that Woody Johnson probably wiped his ass with.

he had to hire a forensic investigator to get the information off the phones before and after the period in question. How is he going to get that information off a phone that no longer exists?

The investigation requested information pertinent to the investigation, not s**t about Peyton Manning. That's Brady's own fault. Lol
Brady is the GOAT but that's ok because JG is about to take that over

Possibly. But Joe Montana is flawless.

Once again...we lost games too and never had a perfect season.

Only one team can claim to be perfect.
this debate is non sense..

Cheating
WEAK ass division so walks in to the playoffs every year
LOST to Eli Manning and a backup QB who was contemplating retiring
The most offensive friendly rules to increase scoring (NFL needs exciting games)
Benefited from the tuck rule which we all know was b******t... that was a fumble
Needed a kicker to win a couple of his rings.. Adam V is the real MVP for a couple of SB's.

GOAT = Joe Montana
SGOAT = Tom Brady

And toss in a bonehead seahawks decision to pass rather than run.
And while you're at it, toss in an easy touchdown catch DROPPED by the SGOAT himself.

I'm talking about consistent winning. The Giants of the 2000s may have two Super Bowls, but the Giants under Parcells they are not.

They've won the same amount of super bowls as the Parcells team. My argument is that as dominant as the Patriots seem they can be stopped in different ways by different philosophies. The lack of consistent good teams is why the Patriots make it to the AFC Championship game every year.

Obviously the David Tyree catch was super-lucky but the fact that Atlanta choked away last year's SB lead was even more shocking. So consider those a wash and stick with the above notes :)
I can't stress the weak division enough. These dudes get a bye week almost every year in the playoffs. Weak ass division also allows them to handle banged up players better rather than division teams beating each other up. There's also 6 games where they can simplify the playbook and use as sort of a sharpening the saw period.

It's like Lebron playing in the East. Playing in the West He doesn't touch the Finals anywhere near as many times as he did playing in the East.

The weak division is a silly argument when you compare Brady's win % and stats in the AFC East vs the rest of the league.

And I'm not sure why you think the AFC East has been a complete joke Brady's whole career. And you're making it seem like the Pats are winning the division with a 9-7 record. Hell the one year they missed the playoffs with Brady starting in his 2nd season they had 3 teams at 9-7.
