Montana/Rice/Lott- you could make a case for a bunch of guys for the 4th spot. Gore/S.Young/B.Young/Perry/Willis(maybe)

Too many contributors to debate.
Wilcox/johnson were extraordinary performers when our d blew chunks.
Should we put in hardman?
What about modern oline?

I would give the 4th spot to Bob StClair.. then CB Jimmy Johnson... and finally, to close out the top... Hugh McIlleny (RB) ..
but since I never saw those 3 players played, my top 5 would be..
JOE
JERRY
RONNIE
CHARLES
WRIGHT

That fourth spot is tough because there are so many Niners in the Hall of Fame. But anyone who saw Jimmy Johnson play knows he was incredibly special. I was at a game, I forget who they were playing - it was at Kezar so it must have been mid to late 60's - but he was shutting down one side of the field and they weren't throwing his way. On one play, he ran all the way across the field as the QB threw and intercepted a pass meant for the receiver the OTHER corner was covering.
Definitely one of the greatest corners in NFL history; all 70's decade team, Hall of Fame, 5 time first team all pro. And those 47 interceptions have to be taken with the grain of salt that almost nobody threw his way.

The only reason i dont put wright on the list is injury shortened career. He was unusual. What a draft that was.
Question: would baalke draft need like that, 3 high picks used for dbs, turning worst backfield in league to best?
