7. brett favre
8. john elway
9. kurt warner

i'm in my early 40's and i can't comment on 60s and 70s players. i know guys like kurt warner shouldn't be in the top 10 list, but when he was on he was special. and i know ya'll hate me for having manning over montana, but the body of work of peyton manning is great. if he had few more rings i would've had him over brady. manning changed the game.

and IMO aaron rodgers will finish top 3. dude is special. if he can win a ring or two and keep up his stats, he may pass montana.

i don't just look at the SBs. it's a team game. you gotta look at the total package. brady has everything. rings and stats.

Players come and go, but New England has it figured out like no other NFL team and the reason is BILL BELICHICK and not Tom Brady. Oh yea, the Diesel is John Riggins Hall of Fame running back for those that don't know.

belichick was sub .500 before brady. he also had 3 time probowl QB in drew bledsoe. went 5-11.

and cassel took the chiefs to the playoffs and posted 27tds 7ints and was considered an mvp briefly in that 2010 season.

IMO, jimmy garappolo has a potential to be a legit star. dude was picked in the 2nd round. that's how much BB loved him. who's to say jimmy G is next steve young? he has every tools to be a star. on top of that he sat learned from the greatest QB.

and with brisset pats lost to friggin rex ryan 0-16. scored big fat 0 pts. brady destroyed the bills.

this is how I've felt for years... and stand by the facts ... Montana played football in a time when you really got hit, and look at what he has done. Now QB'S are protected if a player leads with his helment ... Totally agree ... today records are being broken in record time bc how easy it is for QB and WR can open but not suffer for the catch like back in the day. I have laid aside my Ninerror loyalty and have made a fair choice on this Montana VA Brady. Brady and his coaches have been caught multi times cheating... Montana zero... As of now Montana is still top dog

again, today's players are bigger and stronger, so when you get hit today it probably hurts more. and brady is a pocket passer. he ain't michael vick or RGIII.

montana threw to jerry rice who used stickum. and if you ever followed deflategate, it's been debunked by the science. and when did brady was part of a spygate? that's coaches doing and both jimmy johnson and bill cowher said that everybody taped everybody. that's no big deal. brady played with inflated ball all year and he went to superbowl this year.

let's not act like brady never got hit.

today's players will just be fine in the 80's. if peyton manning plays in the 80's he would destroy the league. players get better. they don't get worse.

lol yeah right... just bc you can show a few flixs Brady taking a hit doest mean he isn't living a more confertable QB friendly league. Second he is a cheater and so is his coach, it's called witnesses. Your in the wrong place even R. Ryan would say so... and he witnessed it himself.
Patriots never would've won vs the Rams in that SB unless they cheated... and yes its true

Early 40's? Well if you are 42 and assuming you were 10 years old when Montana was at his finest hour in SB19 your opinion isn't worth spit. Combine that with the fact I believe you said you are a Seahawk and will have an inherent bias against 49er players, your opinion is even lower than not worth spit.

Manning over Montana... what? What Manning did was special and makes great Comercials ... but please. The debate is Montana vs Brady...
Now If Rogers can win one more Bowl, then we have a Manning vs Rogers debate. looking at your list I'm still wondering if Farve was better then Elway. Elway took care of him in the Bowl and did it while he got tossed around at the 1 yard. but that's a different debate

Rogers needs to win 3 more SB's to even enter the conversation. I agree with Manning. Great regular season QB beating up on the AFC North.

oh so only the old geezers have valid opinions on things? that's ridiculous. so what's your opinion on sammy baugh? otto graham? i'm certain 90 year old football fans would say those guys were better than 80's players.

give me a break.

there are enough people who believes manning is better than montana. yes, manning didnt perform well in the playoffs. manning is a victim of his own genius. dude was basically a player coach that was his downfall in the playoffs.

but manning's longevity, 5 mvps, overall stats, and impact on the game > montana's 4 SBs. that's jnot just me. and i know many people who agrees with me.

i'll put it this way. if i have to win a SB, i'll take montana. if i need a QB for next 15 years i'll take manning. I don't just value SB heroics. you gotta look at the overall package. manning was great. absolutely nasty in his peak.

niners would've never won anything if they didn't draft montana. let's stay focused on the topic. montana's legacy is not secured. not at all. brady has passed montana. in fact he passed him few years ago.

Not a hater, I won my fantacy league this year bc of Brady, Blount, and Jones... I'm not a hater, I know when to pick sure winners... but what we are talking about is legacies, facts. The hype right now is on Brady side

that comment was added to my previous statement above bro.
Lolz dude is now going to convince himself that Manning > Montana.
I grew up in the 90s so I remember a fading Montana, Steve Young with a loaded team finally getting it done, wishing Aikman would die, and facing Favre the 49er killer.

Truthfully, I can only rate QBs from the late 90's forward. Its kind of silly to say that as a 10 year old or something you can judge QBs. For me, only considering guys that played into the 2000s and beyond, my top 10:

1. Tom Brady
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Peyton Manning
4. Drew Brees
5. Kurt Warner
6. Brett Favre
7. Ben Roethlisberger
8. Michael Vick
9. Russell Wilson
10. Cam Newton

If Matt Ryan is able to pull off a SB win, I'd probably bump him on the list over Cam.
