I'll never forget what Brady said when these comparisons first started after his 2nd or 3rd Super Bowl. It was an interview on TV and he said something to the effect of "If Joe Montana played with the rules we have today he would have won 10 Super Bowls"
Brady admires Montana and wanted to be like Joe. Rogers say the same thing. Joe was and is the man!!!

You dont think they both grew up in Northern California and were Niners fans may have a little to do with that? But, everyone admires Joe's abilities so that truly isnt surprising. No one would ever argue that.

Brady is a stand up guy. I'm glad he idolized Montana... got himself 4 rings

Every time someone tries to make a case about this n that and comparing eras, just let them have BRADY'S QUOTE!

No, joe was the system and the sustem was joe. Elway would not have run it as efficiently due to temperament. Elway would not be on my list of all time greats.

Just another qb who cant handle great athleticism.

Peyton would constantly change everything. And couldnt handle the mobility required.

No improving perfection.

Probably all kinds of dirty business pats did we are unaware of.

I wonder what kinda "dirty business" Belichick is conjuring up at this very moment?

If you're gonna say NE kicker won a Super Bowl for Tom then the 49ers defense and ST won the 49ers first SB for Joe. The 49ers didn't score a TD in the 2nd half of their first SB.

Joe Montana loves Terry Bradshaw and is a Steelers fan.

Montana gave the 49ers a 20-0 lead at halftime, and the D almost blew it. Id hardly call them the heroes of that SB.

49ers fumbled the opening kick of that SB and then Cincy threw an INT in the endzone. lol
Cincy also had another 4th quarter INT, 49ers just ran the ball took time off the clock and kicked another FG
think they had 3 turnovers in that game

Do you even goal line stand? Huge Defensive play in the 3rd quarter keeping Cincy from scoring.

Montana had a nice 4th quarter drive that set up a FG.

Ray Wersching should have been MVP

The 49ers offense was inept in the 2nd half and did very little. Therefore, the D was on the field pretty much the entire half. They played soft not wanting to give up big plays and did give up lots of completions and yardage to Cincy but not the big play. It was the goal line stand that truly defined the SB win. As for almost blowing it.. well not really. Cincy got the last TD with 15 seconds to go to get within 5.

oh Cincy had 4 turnovers in that game lol

pretty much without that Defense the 49ers prob lose 24-20

Eric Wright forced a fumble from Chris Collinsworth at the 49ers 5 yard line. 49ers drove 92 yards for a score to make it 14-0.

lol It could have been 14-0 Cincy if it wasn't for Eric Wright and Dwight Hicks.

Hard to say. Both the offense and defense played very conservatively in the 2nd half because of the lead and were just trying to hold on. Without those early the turnovers it would have been a completely different game with more offense in my opinion. The Niners were the better team and I think they still would have won.
