Lol

He is being compared to Jordan and Gretzky

I think he earned it.

Like those 2 seasons where Michael Jordan got embarrassed in the Finals? Oh wait....

Putting him on the same level as Jordan and Gretzky is RIDICULOUS. Jordan and Gretzky had no equals.

Wayne Gretzky won the MVP award 9 times in 10 years. Michael Jordan won 6 consecutive NBA Finals and 6 consecutive Finals MVP's in years he played.

Tom Brady is a great QB, but to say hes on that level is naive. Matt Cassel went 11-5 the year Brady was out. Garoppolo and Brisset went 3-1 in the games he was out this year. The Patriots have a great system in place that isn't desperately tied to any one player, despite how great Brady is.

The fact that you're saying Brady "got embarrassed" in his two Super Bowl losses shows that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, that is blatant hyperbole. New England lead 14-10 with 2:42 remaining in the first SB loss to the Giants, and they lead 17-15 with 0:57 remaining in the second Super Bowl. Neither of those losses had anything to do with Brady choking or "embarrassing himself". Good grief.

Sort of how like Joe Montana left the 49ers and never replicated his success, and then Steve Young stepped in and became one of the most dominant quarterbacks in the league? You can't say Brady had a great system but that Montana didn't -- that's just throwing stones from a glass house.

Steve Bono was even winning games. Grbac won games when young went out. 49ers had a great system in place as well.

maybe if he wins 6-7 SBs the homers will give this up?
Football is the ultimate team game, both Joe and Brady were in great systems. Brady has done a great job extending his career, I think he's got to keep his mastermind coach for a long time and he has always had great OL protection. He still puts it on the money and piles up wins.

If you put Rodgers with Walsh or Belichick maybe he has 5 rings. It's such a team game it's hard to say it's all the QB. Consistency and repetition in a system for these highly skilled players seems crucial. The coaches I think are more crucial than anything. It's like the director of a film, you rarely see a guy win best director and not best picture, because he's the guy creating the whole masterpiece.

Here's one thing.......

Quarterbacks are well better protected compared to back then.

Montana had some brutal hits from ferocious defenses.

Brady has the Manning rule.

Just because they're protected doesn't mean QBs today don't take some brutal hits. The hit that took Montana out would be perfectly legal today. Some of the hits Brady took yesterday were pretty damn hard. Grady Jarret was killing him.

Difference is that defenders are susceptible to more than a flag.....a fine. Even some that don't look like a violent hit end up being flagged.

Also, I did read the refs were going to let the players play their game.

I'd still take Montana over Brady if my life depended on a win in the SB.

Today I'd say...Montana to start the game, Elway if it came down to one throw and Brady if I needed a comeback.
Montana to start, play and make the comeback.

Elway to fetch the protein bars. Brady for the after game speech.

Yes, doctors, lawyers, housewives, politicians and all the rich kids at my school were doing it.
debate's been over for a while, but last night brady dropped the mic and really ended any argument there is. im not trying to disrespect montana. montana was the greatest. he held that title very well for a long time. he owned the 80's. but now brady has that title. it's an official title. brady owned 00's and 10's. he might become the first player to be in the 'all decade' team twice. it's unprecedented.

and his pats have 2 more SB runs in them. now that really is a scary thought. just look at the state of the AFC. AFC has been dominant for a long time because of brady/manning era. but peyton manning's been gone. big ben never stood a chance against brady. flacco and ravens are always up and down. who else? maybe texans with romo can challenge the pats. i don't know if derek carr can take that next step yet. maybe they are few more years away. i really can't think of a reason why pats wouldn't continue to become the #1 team in the AFC. and to think that pats can get richer by trading jimmy G is flat out not fair.

when it's all said and done, I believe brady will be compared with Jordan. one of those all time greats. if there's a mt rushmore of athletes, i believe brady will be in it. i still can't believe what i witnessed last night. that kinda stuff doesn't happen in the movie. it's unreal.

Just let Brady take us to the SB, then afterwards [the SWAP]... we don't want to risk OT or anything else (Montana is a lock to win).
