YES!

Yeah, and the way Hayne just stopped and turned around right in the middle of the play there, it looked like he was expecting to recieve the ball and he was like, huh?

It was a read option play. The DL pursuit determines who is suppose to get the ball. From my view the ball should have been handed to Hayne. Just as an aside, I don't like the read option being ran by any QB not named Kap.

Why would you ever have Gabbert running a read option anyway?

THIS. Gabbert should get questioned about this tomorrow when they review film.

Yeah, but what about him appearing to snub Hayne as he ran over to Gabbert after the play? It was hardly Hayne's fault what happened on that play, was it? Does Gabbert have an issue?

Hayne might get traded to Canadian Football for getting tackled by the punter

From what I saw on the play, it was Gabbert's mistake. I see no justification for his apparent snub of Hayne.

Gabbert made the correct read on the play. DAL ran a 'scrape exchange'. The DE crashes down on the dive to give the QB a false read. Gabber reads the DE crashing, keeps the ball, the ILB scrapes over and takes Gabbert. Watch that youtube clip and you'll see. It's a known way to combat the read option.

LOL

It wasn't a "snub". It's a read option play. The QB simply read the play wrong. It doesn't mean he has an issue with Hayne. Gabbert is a 2nd string QB for a reason.

Had Gabbert handed off to Hayne, they might have had a better shot at getting the first down (3rd & 1) because Hayne could have just fallen forward if #95 can't make a sure tackle. But as far as Gabbert's read on the play, he made the correct read.

From my untrained eye, I have to agree. Oh well, I guess if there's something eating Gabbert, they'll work it out behind the scenes.
