Beathard, Matthews, Staley, McGlinchey, Spoon, and Taylor should be inactive, leaving Jeff Wilson Jr as a potential active, or maybe they do activate Matthews?

Play Wilson Jr. as a FB? Or go 2x TE sets all game?

Wonder if they cut someone and bring someone in at FB like Helm or Mayfield. They know our system. Or do they work with one of the TE's at the H-Back?
Welp. This should be an easy one to determine. Week 6 inactives:

FB Juszscyck
OT Staley
OT McGlinchey
CB Witherspoon
QB Beathard
DT Taylor
RB Wilson

I expect us to roll with 3 RBs and go heavier at WR for several reasons. First, the Ram's slot corner is 5-8. Not only does Matthews possess an obvious height advantage, he also brings additional value as a blocker in the run game. Second, having another WR would make the most sense as a contingency measure. If we struggled in either area, run or pass, a fourth RB would do us no good. However, an extra WR would at least help if the run game struggled. Logic says: activate six receivers.

Agreed. My question is, how long are they going to keep Beathard on the 53? He is taking up a very valuable spot right now.

I am surprised the Steelers haven't been calling for a trade.. but I don't see us trading him for more than a 5th rounder..

Steelers may be calling it a year. Better to get some good draft choices.

Assuming Hurd and Taylor are the two we will activate off IR if they are ready. Verret - no need. Same goes for Street.

agree
That first page is embarrassing
Does the next injury get Beathard or J. Taylor off the 53?
Well about 20 minutes till inactives have to be named, is it Wilson or Matthews active.

Also if Hurd and Taylor are activated off IR, who gets cut? Matthews for sure, probably Bourne, also who sits, or will Kyle play 6 WRs?

This is why in the next CBA the NFL needs to increase roster sizes to 60, and eliminate inactive lists. Teams should be able to keep extra players they don't want to lose.

I agree and not only that but by not being able to activate the whole roster for in game injuries you could be forcing some guys to play hurt because there really isn't enough guys to backfill at some positions.
Assuming that Deebo, DJ Jones and Mostert can't play on Sunday, is it possible the Niners play with less than 46 dressed against the Redskins? They would have Mathews for Deebo, J. Taylor for DJ Jones and then only Beathard is left on the remaining 53 who is healthy. They would have to subject someone to waivers if they bring someone up from the practice squad.
